‘Ocean’s Eleven’ Prequel Reportedly In Development With Margot Robbie Attached

Margot Robbie, fresh off her starring role in the upcoming ‘Barbie’ film from Greta Gerwig, is ready for her next project, and it looks like it might be a pretty big one.

According to multiple reports, the 31-year-old actress is attached to star in a prequel to ‘Ocean’s Eleven‘ — a heist comedy about con artists who rob millions from a Las Vegas casino.

The film is still early in development at Warner Bros. and it has not been greenlit, but insiders expect that to change.

Jay Roach, who previously worked with Robbie on 2019’s workplace sexual harassment drama ‘Bombshell,’ is directing the film. Carrie Solomon is working on the screenplay, which is expected to take place far away from Sin City, in 1960s Europe.

If the script delivers and the studio plans to move forward, this movie would likely shoot in the spring of 2023, which means we are looking at a 2024 release date… if everything goes according to plan, which it almost never does in Hollywood.

What’s interesting about that timeline is Robbie will likely be busy all June and July in 2023 promoting the aforementioned ‘Barbie’ film, so production on this potential ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ sequel would likely need to wrap before the middle of June.

Check Out The First-Look Photo Of Margot Robbie In Upcoming ‘Barbie’ Film

People are really jazzed about the upcoming live-action ‘Barbie‘ film from ‘Lady Bird’ director Greta Gerwig. The movie now has an official release date of July 21, 2023, so they’re hoping it’s a summer blockbuster.

The release date, and the first-look photo were released at CinemaCon this week, to get theater owners excited about the project.

Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the titular character. She’ll be joined by Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera and Will Ferrell. So, you know, just some random cast of actors. No big deal or anything.

Greta co-wrote the script with her longtime partner Noah Baumbach, so there is a lot of talent circling this film which is one of the reasons people are so excited about it.

The July 21, 2023 release date is an interesting one as it’s set to be competing against Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, Oppenheimer, which also features a star-studded cast, including Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Rami Malek, Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh.

It’s going to be very fun to watch them battle it out at the theaters.

In the meantime, we’ll be desperately waiting for their trailers to be released, most likely later this year, or early next year.

Margot Robbie’s ‘Barbie’ Movie Adds More Stars To The Cast

This Warner Bros’ ‘Barbie‘ film has one impressive cast. We’ve already told you that Margot Robbie will star in the titular role, but have you heard who will be joining her?

It’s being reported that Ryan Gosling, America Ferrara, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Emerald Fennell and Alexandra Shipp will join Margot in the film, which is being directed by ‘Lady Bird’ filmmaker Greta Gerwig.

She also co-wrote the script with her long-time boo Noah Baumbach. Unfortunately, plot details are being held secret, so we don’t know much about this flick.

But with Gerwig serving as director, you can bet it won’t be your typical ‘Barbie’ story. According to insiders, filming started recently in London, and the movie is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2023.

Back in August of 2021, Robbie talked about taking on the huge role…

It comes with a lot of baggage … and a lot of nostalgic connections. But with that come[s] a lot of exciting ways to attack it. People generally hear ‘Barbie’ and think, ‘I know what that movie is going to be,’ and then they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing it, and they’re like, ‘Oh, well, maybe I don’t…’

Yeah, no one knows the direction Gerwig is taking this, but we’re super excited to find out, especially with an incredible a-list cast in place.

Early Tracking Suggests ‘Birds of Prey’ Will Open To Around $50 Million

Last week, we shared the new trailer for ‘Birds of Prey’ with you all. The DC Extended Universe film starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is set to hit theaters February 7, 2020.

The movie is being described as a spinoff of 2016’s ‘Suicide Squad‘ film. In addition to Robbie, this film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Ewan McGregor.

And because this is a comic-book film, people are expecting it to perform well at the box office. According to the early tracking numbers, Birds of Prey is expected to bring in around $50 million during its opening weekend.

That would be a solid opening, but it’s a bit conservative. You have to imagine the studio is hoping for at least $60 to $70 million.

Birds of Prey is directed by Cathy Yan from a script by Christina Hodson. Robbie, who originated the idea, is a producer along with Bryan Unkeless and Sue Kroll. The film carries a reported price tag of $97 million.

$97 million budget is fairly low for a superhero flick. Suicide Squad carried a $150 million budget, although, it made $133 million in its opening weekend.

The upcoming ‘Joker‘ film will hit theaters this weekend, but some people might be more interested in the upcoming jokerless film, Birds of Prey.

The DC Comics film plans to show Harley Quinn’s transformation from Joker’s sidekick to leader of a new group of antiheroes.

Margot Robbie stars as Harley in the movie. Ewan McGregor plays Gotham City crime lord Black Mask and Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays Huntress.

The female-led comic film adaptation puts the band of anti-heroines in charge of protecting Cassandra Cain, played by Ella Jay Basco, from Black Mask.

Birds of Prey will hit theaters February 7, 2020. You can check out the full trailer below…

Margot Robbie’s Barbie Movie Is Moving Forward With Warner Bros. And Mattel

Way back in 2017 (feels weird to say that) we told you that Amy Schumer was in talks to star in a live-action Barbie movie. She later dropped out, claiming her schedule was too busy. And ever since then, things have been pretty quiet in Barbieland.

But now that’s changing. Warner Bros. and Mattel have officially partnered together to bring Barbie to the big screen.

According to the reports, Margot Robbie will star in this live-action flick. She’s also set to co-produce, and it’s safe to say she’s extremely excited…

“Playing with Barbie promotes confidence, curiosity and communication throughout a child’s journey to self-discovery. Over the brand’s almost 60 years, Barbie has empowered kids to imagine themselves in aspirational roles from a princess to president. I’m so honored to take on this role and produce a film that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide. I can’t imagine better partners than Warner Bros and Mattel to bring this film to the big screen.”

This live-action film is Mattel’s first announced deal to come out of their newly-established Mattel films. You can expect to see more partnerships between Mattel and Warner Bros. in the future, especially if this Barbie film performs well.

No word on a release date, but with filming not even being talked about at the moment, we have to believe it won’t hit theaters until at least late 2020 or 2021.

Margot Robbie Seduces And Tortures Men In Trailer For ‘Terminal’

Margot Robbie had a pretty great 2017. She starred in the I, Tonya biopic and was nominated for an Oscar for her performance. The 27-year-old actress is hoping to find similar success with her next movie, Terminal.

It’s clear this role is going to be completely different than her last role, which is a good thing ’cause she’s showing off impressive range here.

The trailer opens with Robbie’s femme fatale character, Annie, sporting a black bob haircut and a British accent as she interrogates a man using extreme methods. The rest of the cast is then introduced — including Simon Pegg, Max Irons, Mike Myers and Dexter Fletcher — as the trailer showcases a gritty world filled with neon signs, dark alleys and dangerous, seedy characters.”

Writer/Director Vaughn Stein will be making his feature debut with this film, and he has surrounded himself with a great cast. You can check out the full trailer below.

It’s currently scheduled to hit theaters May 11, 2018.

Brad Pitt Joins Leonardo DiCaprio In Quentin Tarantino’s Upcoming Film ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’

We are now learning more about Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, including the name. Sony released the details this week, revealing the name Tarantino has chosen is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

He also gave the studio a blurb about the movie to send out to the media…

“The story takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate.”

That’s right, folks. This movie will star both Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. Two of the biggest names in Hollywood joining one of the most talented directors in Hollywood for what might be his second-to-last film.

We still don’t know who will play the role of Sharon Tate, but it’s rumored that Margot Robbie has been asked to take on the role. That rumor has not been confirmed, though.

Speaking about the movie, Tarantino revealed he’s been working on this script for five years…

“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is scheduled to hit theaters August 9, 2019.
