The cast for the upcoming comedy ‘Queenpins’ just got even stronger this week. It was announced that Vince Vaughn and Paul Walter Hauser will be joining the project, which already has Kristen Bell and Leslie Jones.
The movie is ~inspired~ by the true story of the largest coupon counterfeit scheme in the history of the United States.
When two suburban housewives stumble upon a way to make a little money with fake coupons, they soon find themselves in over their heads as their scheme grows to a $40M criminal venture.
It certainly sounds like there is the potential for lots of comedy to take place. I really hope Vaughn is playing one of the housewives’ husbands in the movie, ’cause I can see him losing his sh*t over this.
He has the best, “Are you f**king serious?” face in comedy.
Production is expected to begin in Los Angeles later this year. No word on a potential release date.
The first ‘Angry Birds‘ movie received mixed reviews from critics when it was released in 2016, but got an A+ from the general audience. It made nearly $350 million at the box office against a budget of $73 million.
And when a film performs that well at the box office, what does that mean? SEQUEL! ‘The Angry Birds Movie 2‘ is set to hit theaters September 20, 2019, and they’re adding some fresh voices to the mix.
It was revealed this week that Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), Leslie Jones (SNL) and Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) will be joining the cast. We know that Jones will be voicing a villain character, but we do not know the details behind the other roles.
Jason Sudeikis will be returning as Red, Josh Gadwill return as Chuck and Bill Hader will be back as Leonard.
“The Angry Birds Movie 2 is directed by Thurop Van Orman (Adventure Time) and co-directed by John Rice (Rick and Morty) based on a screenplay by Peter Ackerman (Ice Age).”
It should be another entertaining ride. It’s hard to believe this all started as a simple iPhone game.
The online trolls have been slamming this all-female Ghostbusters remake for over a year now. The hate has been constant and sometimes a little scary. And while all the cast members have had to put up with the trolls, Leslie Jones has received the most hate.
And we’re not talking about some 13-year-old writing, “Hey, Leslie. Your face looks like my butt!” There are no Sandlot insults being tossed around here. Sadly, there is a group of racist dudes (adults!) out there writing some pretty disgusting things about the 48-year-old comedian/actress.
She also revealed that some awful human sent her a picture with semen slapped on her face, “I’m tryin to figure out what human means. I’m out,” she wrote on her Twitter account.
And if you think she’s simply overreacting to a few random Twitter trolls, you should probably think again. Jones was receiving a steady stream of hate for months. Heck, some users even compared her to Harambe, the male gorilla who was shot dead a few months ago at a Cincinnati zoo.
“You have to hate yourself to put out that type of hate. I mean on my worst day I can’t think of this type of hate to put out.”
It’s the ugly side of the internet. Or really not even just the internet. It’s humanity’s ugly side. Hopefully the hate will slow down and Jones can return to a normal life. It’s crazy to think there are people out there getting this upset over a freaking movie.
Last week, the first trailer for the ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot was released, and to say it received “mixed reactions” would be a lie. The reactions to the trailer were mostly negative. It has over 22 million views on YouTube, but has just 177k likes compared to a ridiculous 390k dislikes.
Those numbers are usually reserved for videos showing animal abuse.
Honestly, I didn’t think the trailer was that bad. It was an average trailer for what is most likely going to be an average/entertaining film. But the haters of the internet have been preparing to hate this trailer for months. This trailer could have been the funniest trailer in history and people would have still hated it.
Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, and Kristen Wiig have experienced some nasty comments from the haters, but poor Leslie Jones has experienced most of the irrational hate.
The comedian/actress received so many negative comments that she actually considered leaving Twitter, but that’s when director Paul Feig stepped in.
Feig’s comments will only fuel the haters, so he probably made the problem worse on social media. However, it’s nice to see him protect his cast, and we have to imagine it looks good to other actors in Hollywood. I know I’d feel comfortable working with Feig.
The new Ghostbusters film hits theaters July 15. Will you be watching?
After months of teasing, the team behind the new Ghostbusters film has finally decided to give us our first real taste of the all-female reboot of the ’80s classic. The trailer just continues to display the incredible amount of fierceness we saw in the posters and teaser images leading up to this moment.
The trailer opens up with a lone piano playing, which honestly makes you feel a little nervous. I started looking over my shoulder during the first few seconds, but then Kristen Wiig gets slimed and that’s when the laughs start coming in.
“That stuff went everywhere, by the way. In every crack. Very hard to wash off.” Wiig tells a shocked Melissa McCarthy, who looks absolutely amazing in this trailer.
And while Melissa, Kristen and Kate McKinnon get most of the laughs early on in the trailer, Leslie Jones comes on strong at the end. This trailer does a nice job of showing everyone’s talent.
Check out the madness below. The film is scheduled to hit theaters July 15. Don’t let the haters stop you from enjoying this one. It looks like a lot of fun.
We have been talking about this all-female ‘Ghostbusters‘ reboot for months now. Trying to figure out who Paul Feig would choose to bring the Ghostbusters franchise back to life. Well, we are happy to report that the speculation has ended.
Director Paul Feig surprised us all yesterday when he revealed the huge casting news on his Twitter account. We now know that Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon will star in the film.
We all know the first two names. Wiig and McCarthy’s names were attached to this project from the very start, but the casting of Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones did surprise some people. Kate McKinnon made news a few weeks ago for her brilliant Justin Bieber impression on SNL.
And Leslie Jones, who also stars on SNL, grabbed everyone’s attention in Chris Rock’s recent film Top Five.
Deadline is reporting that all the funny ladies listed above are still in negotiations, so there is still a chance we could see a last minute change; however, we find that highly unlikely. None of these ladies are going to ruin their chances of starring in a freaking Ghostbusters film! I’d star in the film for a chewed-up piece of gum and a package of M&M’s.
After announcing the casting news, Feig also announced the scheduled release date for the film.
