Jonathan Rhys Meyers And John Malkovich Just Wrapped On Pandemic Thriller

Are you in the mood to watch a movie about a pandemic while we’re in the middle of a pandemic? If so, you’ll want to be on the look out for a little film called, The Survivalist.

The movie stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers and John Malkovich. It was written by Matthew Rogers and the production just wrapped a couple weeks ago.

It takes place a year and a half after the fall of civilization from a virus outbreak. A former FBI agent (Rhys Meyers) is forced to protect a young woman, who is immune to the disease, from a dangerous gang hunting her led by a psychopath who believes he’s going to use her to save the world (Malkovich).

Sounds a little similar to Children of Men, but obviously not exactly the same.

Yale Productions is the company behind this project. No word on a potential release date, but it’s a pretty safe bet it’ll be released sometime in 2021. I suppose it may enter the festival circuit.

And with the talented John Malkovich involved, there’s a good chance some streamer picks it up.

Check Out The First Poster For Clark Duke’s Directorial Debut ‘Arkansas’ Featuring Vince Vaughn And John Malkovich

You may remember Clark Duke as Michael Cera’s best friend. Or maybe you remember him from the late season episodes of ‘The Office‘ or maybe you saw him in the recent ‘Veronica Mars‘ reboot.

The dude has been around for a while, and this year, he’ll be making his directorial debut with the crime drama, Arkansas.

The film will debut at the upcoming SXSW Film Festival in March in Austin. According to the reports, Arkansas “explores the criminal underworld of the Deep South in the 80s.”

Duke and Liam Hemsworth star as two drug runners in the Dixie Mafia who are forced to interact with a drug kingpin (played by Vince Vaughn) when a deal goes wrong.

In addition to the names listed above, this movie stars John Malkovich, Vivica A. Fox, and Michael Kenneth Williams.

No word on an official release date for this flick, but we’ll keep you posted. Here’s to hoping the reviews out of SXSW are positive!
