Reunited! Steve Carell Joins Cast Of John Krasinski’s Next Feature, ‘IF’

John Krasinski made a name for himself in ‘The Office’ but in recent years he has proven he is more than a sitcom actor. He’s an extremely talented director/storyteller. As you all know, he directed both ‘A Quiet Place‘ films, which have generated over $600 million at the box office.

Now he’s getting ready for his next directing gig with the upcoming Paramount Pictures film IF.

Details are being kept under wraps, but the story is based on an original idea of Krasinski’s, about a child’s journey to rediscover their imagination. Krasinski will direct, write and produce the original film via his company.

And he’s bringing in a super talented cast. It was announced this week that Steve Carell has joined the cast, creating a mini ‘The Office’ reunion on set.

But Carell isn’t the only big name. Ryan Reynolds and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have also agreed to star, in addition to Alan Kim and Fiona Shaw.

The movie is scheduled to be released on November 17, 2023, so they’re hoping it’s a film that performs well with families during the holidays.

This will be the first project Krasinski and Carell have teamed up on since their time together on The Office.

‘A Quiet Place 2’ Release Date Pushed Back, John Krasinski Updates Fans

Another one bites the dust. We are seeing movie after movie push back its release date, due to the coronavirus. It first started with the most recent James Bond flick, then Fast 9, and now A Quiet Place 2.

The horror-thriller sequel starring Emily Blunt and being directed by John Krasinski, was set to hit theaters in just one week.

That’s not going to happen now. Paramount Pictures has pulled the film and announced it will be released at a later date. As of right now, we still don’t know the date, but it’s likely it could get pushed back to September or October.

Krasinski went on his Instagram account to update his fans…

So far, it’s been mostly bigger films pushing back their release dates. It’ll be interesting to see what some smaller films will do. It’s possible some movies might have a “streaming” release date. Partner up with Netflix or Amazon, and release the film online.

With everyone locked up at home, it might not be a bad idea.

John Krasinski And Ryan Reynolds Teaming Up For Fantasy Comedy Film ‘Imaginary Friends’

The dream team of Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski is about to find a home in Paramount. According to a recent report, the studio is in the process of picking up their film ‘Imaginary Friends

There was apparently an intense bidding war over the project and Paramount is coming out on top.

Krasinski will write, direct, and star in this film. Reynolds will co-star and probably produce.

The Dr. Dolittle-like tale of a man who can see and talk to people’s imaginary friends, befriending those that have been forgotten or discarded. However, some imaginary friends, lacking love and friendship, turn to the dark side, and it’s up to Reynolds’ character to save the world from those that become evil.

Sounds interesting, yeah? At least it’s somewhat original. Krasinski has probably had lots of offers to direct remakes of popular films, but he seems to be committed to writing his own sh*t.

For Reynolds, this is just more money in the bank. He’s made at least $60 million this past year, and once this deal closes, that number will go up even more.

No word on a potential start date for filming, but we’ll keep you posted.

John Krasinski Just Revealed He’s Writing The Script For ‘A Quiet Place 2’

A Quiet Place‘ was one of the best surprise hits of the year. It was released back in April of 2018 and took home over $330 million at the box office. Critics loved it, the audience loved it and most importantly the studio loved it because it made them a bunch of money.

And now they’re ready for a sequel. The director of the movie, John Krasinski, originally said he didn’t want to be involved in the sequel. He thought it’d be just a one-time experience.

But then a little idea for a possible sequel popped in his head, and as the studio listened to pitches from several writing teams, Krasinski let this idea build up inside him and eventually he had to let it out.

“I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn’t think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, ‘Just go do the movie with somebody else.’ They heard some pitches, and I told Drew about this little idea. And he told me to think about it a little longer. And then I thought, ‘This might really work.’ So, I’m currently writing the sequel.”

So there you go, Big Tuna is coming back for the sequel and we’re sure the studio is thrilled. Just being able to add his name to the movie again is huge.

The sequel is expected to be released inside theaters May 15, 2020.

‘A Quiet Place’ Settles For A Close Second Place At The Box Office As Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Rampage’ Takes The Top Spot

Many people thought (including me) that ‘A Quiet Place‘ would take the top spot at the box office for two weekends in a row, but it looks like Dwayne Johnson’s star power is stronger than we thought.

His video game adaptation ‘Rampage‘ is not exactly performing well with critics, but the audience is eating it right up. The film managed to just beat A Quiet Place at the box office this weekend.

Rampage earned $34.5 million and A Quiet Place came in at second with $32.9 million, but it’s still a win for the horror/thriller directed by John Krasinski. In fact, I’d say it’s the real winner of the weekend, ’cause it worked with a budget just under $20 million and it’s already made $100 million at the domestic box office.

Meanwhile, Rampage’s budget was reportedly $120 million, so it’s going to need to perform well overseas in order to make that back and more. And honestly, it probably will because the world is in love with The Rock.

Coming in third at the box office this weekend was Blumhouse’s ‘Truth or Dare,’ which earned an impressive $19 million. That’s not a bad opening at all for a film that was reportedly made for under $5 million.

Next weekend, ‘Super Troopers 2‘ and Amy Schumer’s comedy ‘I Feel Pretty‘ will be released. We’ll see if either of those titles can take down Rampage.

The Final Trailer For ‘A Quiet Place’ Has Been Released, You Need To Watch This Movie! (VIDEO)

Are you ready for what might be the best horror film of the year? A Quiet Place released its final trailer today just days before its release on April 6, 2018.

The talented actor (and now filmmaker) John Krasinski wrote/directed and stars in this horror-thriller film. His wife, Emily Blunt, also stars. The movie features a family of four trying to navigate their lives in silence after dangerous creatures that hunt by sound surround their land.

A Quiet Place currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 38 fresh reviews and 0 rotten. Some critics are calling it the best horror movie in years.

Brian Tallerico from RogerEbert.com wrote the following:

“A tight thrill ride-the kind of movie that quickens the heart rate and plays with the expectations of the audience, while never treating them like idiots. In other words, it’s a really good horror movie.”

You can check out the final trailer below, and then get ready to watch the movie this weekend. It opens on Friday, but some theaters will be playing screenings on Thursday night, so be looking out for that.

Must Watch Trailer: John Krasinski And Emily Blunt Star In Horror-Thriller ‘A Quiet Place’

Remember Jim from The Office? Well, he’s all grown up now and is a legit director in Hollywood. John Krasinski has directed The Hollars and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, and his third film titled ‘A Quiet Place‘ looks to be his best yet.

Krasinski co-stars in the film with his wife Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds. The horror-thriller appears to have a pretty simple plot: a family who lives out in the woods must remain silent, or else they risk being hunted by the unknown.

Sound plays such a crucial role in horror films, so to start off with no sound, and to have the audience waiting for that first mistake by the family, is pretty brilliant. The teaser trailer below sucked me in right from the start.

A Quiet Place will hit theaters April 6, 2018, and I am really excited for it after watching the trailer. I know it won’t be, but I wish this was the only trailer they released. I have a feeling the others will show too much.

John Krasinski Will Write, Direct And Star In Supernatural Thriller With His Wife Emily Blunt

John Krasinski is going to be a busy man this year. The 37-year-old actor, best known for his role as Jim in The Office, will be writing, directing and starring in a supernatural thriller titled A Quiet Place.

And to make things more stressful, his wife Emily Blunt will be co-starring with him, so he’ll have to direct his wife…the mother of his children.

The good news is that Krasinski has some directing experience now. He directed the comedy-drama film The Hollars, which had its world premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. It received mixed reviews from critics, mostly because it didn’t offer anything new to the “indie dramedy” market.

Michael Bay will reportedly be a producer on the film, and it’s scheduled to go into production this fall. Not much else is known at this time, but we will keep you posted as more information is released.

It’s going to be really neat to see how this movie turns out, and to see how Blunt and Krasinski work together.

By the way, if the Michael Bay connection sounds strange to you, it’s not. Bay and Krasinski have developed a strong work relationship. John starred in Bay’s 2016 film 13 hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi and they’re also teaming up together for the new Amazon/Paramount series, Jack Ryan.

Are you one of those people who believe movie stars have it easy? They read a few lines, throw some fake punches and then go home to count their money? Well, maybe you’ll change your mind after hearing about what John Krasinski had to go through for his new movie.

The 36-year-old actor plays Jack in the film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which is scheduled to hit theaters January 15, 2016. He’s been busy promoting the film this month, and during a recent interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, Krasinski talked about how difficult it was getting that ripped body.

He had just eight weeks to get in the best shape of his life. Two intense workout sessions a day with trainer John Walsh, the same trainer who worked with Bradley Cooper for his American Sniper role.

“And it’s real work, too. I thought it would be like, ‘Yeah, let’s eat a couple Power Bars and do push-ups.’ And he was like, ‘No. It’s going to be a living hell for six to eight weeks.'”

Krasinski told Colbert that Walsh had him doing “two-a-days, pulling sleds, pushing weights” and doing an insane amount of push-ups. And while this might not sound like a big deal to some people, the former star of The Office revealed before the training he wasn’t able to do one pull-up.

One might think his wife, Emily Blunt, would be loving his new body; however, he claims she wants the old, doughy John back, “She hates it. She would way prefer to have doughy guy back.”

Watch The Intense Trailer For Michael Bay’s ’13 Hours’ Trailer Starring John Krasinski

It might sound a little strange to you at first. Michael Bay and Jim Halpert from The Office teaming up to create a film based on accounts from Mitchell Zuckoff’s book, 13 Hours: The Inside Account Of What Really Happened In Benghazi.

Sounds like it easily could have been a disaster, but after watching the trailer for the film, it looks like it might actually be a great movie. For those who don’t know, the film centers on the six members of a security team “who fought to defend the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi from an attack of Islamist militants on the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.”

As mentioned above, Michael Bay is the director behind the movie. John Krasinski, Pablo Schreiber, Toby Stephens, Max Martini and James Badge Dale star in the film.

Watch the trailer below. And if you like it, be sure to check it out once it hits theaters January 15, 2016.
