First Trailer For ‘Darkest Hour’ Has Arrived, Watch Gary Oldman Star As Winston Churchill

We finally have the first trailer for Darkest Hour, the likely awards contender directed by Joe Wright. The film is scheduled to be released November 22, which is when all the Oscar campaigns start.

Gary Oldman stars as Winston Churchill. Coming Soon explains the film in more detail:

“A thrilling and inspiring true story begins on the eve of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (Academy Award nominee Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.”

Kristin Scott Thomas costars in the film as Churchill’s spouse, Clementine, and the great Ben Mendelsohn stars as King George VI.

Like we mentioned above, Darkest Hour will hit theaters in November, and it’s probably going to be nominated for several awards. Check out the trailer below!

First Photos of Hugh Jackman revealed as the Villain in ‘Pan’. But he’s not Captain Hook!

Hugh Jackman gave us our first sneak peak of his Blackbeard character back in June when he posted the selfie shown here on Instagram. He titled it “Blackbeard is born”.

He shaved his head just one week after hosting the Ton y awards going all for this role in typical Hugh Jackman fashion. I was confused. I knew he was going to be playing a villain, so I immediately assumed it would be Captain Hook. But this story does not work like that.

If you are worried about another Peter Pan story or perhaps a rehash of ‘Hook’, then think prequel. The Joe Wright directed “Pan” will actually feature Hook, but he will have both hands. He will not be the enemy of Peter, but instead they are friends. The story shows how Peter is transported to Neverland by the notorious Blackbeard as an orphan where he and his future nemesis are best buds.

The role of Peter Pan will be played by Levi Miller and Garrett Hedlund will be playing the two handed hook. Joe Wright promises of the film,

“This isn’t exactly the Neverland story you know.”

Warner Bros. has slated the release of ‘Pan’ to hit theaters on July 17, 2015

Today pictures of the complete make up job were revealed by Entertainment Weekly along with some promo photos and just a few hours ago we received 2 additional character posters. Enjoy!
