Watch The Trailer For Barry Jenkins’ New Film ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’

You all know Barry Jenkins. Or at least you should. The filmmaker showed everyone in Hollywood he had talent when his beautiful film ‘Moonlight‘ won Best Picture and Best Adapted screenplay at the Oscars.

Now Jenkins is ready to make another splash with ‘If Beale Street Could Talk.’ The drama is adapted from James Baldwin’s 1974 novel of the same name.

“‘If Beal Street Could Talk’ stars Kiki Layne and Stephan James as Clementine ‘Tish’ Rivers and Alonzo ‘Fonny’ Hunt, two romantic partners forced apart when Fonny is falsely accused of rape. When Tish finds out she is pregnant while Fonny is in prison, she races against the clock with help from her family and her lawyer to find evidence to exonerate Fonny.”

Just like with Moonlight, Jenkins adapted the novel all by himself, so he could possibly win another Best Adapted screenplay award.

The film will be released inside select theaters this fall. Check out the trailer below…
