The latest celebrity to fall? Louis C.K., one of the most powerful comedians in the game right now, which proves things truly are changing in Hollywood.
If you haven’t heard the disturbing/depressing news about C.K., you can click on this link for a full recap. The short version is five women came out to speak against him in a bombshell report from The New York Times. The women claim the 50-year-old comedian masturbated in front of them, and also had his manager threaten them.
This report came out just hours before his new movie, ‘I Love You, Daddy‘ was set to premiere in New York. The premiere was canceled, and now the folks at The Orchard have revealed they will no longer be distributing the movie, “The Orchard will not be moving forward with the release of ‘I Love You, Daddy,” they said in a brief statement.
In addition to the cancellation of his film, HBO has cut ties with the comedian. They announced he will be dropped from their upcoming comedy special ‘Night of Too Many Stars,’ and all of his past projects will be removed from its on demand services.
And on Friday, Netflix announced they were throwing away their plans to pursue a second stand-up special with C.K.,
“The allegations made by several women in The New York Times about Louis C.K.’s behavior are disturbing. Louis’ unprofessional and inappropriate behavior with female colleagues has led us to decide not to produce a second stand-up special, as had been planned.”
For those wondering if Hollywood would treat C.K. the same as every other offender? Well, you have your answer. They have, and C.K.’s career will probably never be the same.
