Jamie Dornan Has Joined Gal Gadot In Upcoming Netflix Spy Thriller ‘Heart of Stone’

The high-profile spy thriller ‘Heart of Stone‘ has added another big name to its cast. It was announced this week that Jamie Dornan will join the project, which is being pushed by Netflix and Skydance.

Dornan, who received praise this past year for his performance in Belfast, will join a cast that already includes Gal Gadot.

The script was written by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder, but plot details are being kept under wraps for now. We know it’s an “international spy thriller” and we also know Tom Harper will be directing.

Netflix nabbed worldwide rights to the project last January, marking another partnership between the streamer and Skydance, after teaming for ‘The Old Guard’ with Charlize Theron, Ryan Reynolds’ ‘6 Underground’ and the upcoming ‘The Adam Project”’starring Reynolds and directed by Shawn Levy.

Netflix will most likely be dropping a pretty penny on this project, so you can bet they’re hoping it’ll be a huge success.

As mentioned above, not a lot is known about the film at this time, but as more casting news comes out, the details surrounding the plot will follow.

Watch First Trailer For Murder Mystery Film ‘Death on the Nile’

Director Kenneth Branagh had a lot of success in 2017 when he adapted the Agatha Christie novel, Murder on the Orient Express.

The murder mystery received mixed reviews from critics, but it was a hit at the box office, bringing in over $300 million.

Now Branagh is returning with another Christie novel, Death on the Nile, which was originally published way back in 1937.

Death on the Nile will see Branagh returning in the role of beloved fictional detective Hercule Poirot. The plot follows Poirot, a world-renowned detective, who becomes involved in a love triangle gone murderously bad while on a vacation in Egypt.

In addition to Branagh, this mystery will also star Gal Gadot, Rose Leslie, Armie Hammer, and Sophie Okonedo.

As of right now, the movie is expected to be released October 23, 2020, but we’ll see if another covid surge prevents them from doing so.

Gal Gadot Reveals Production On ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Has Wrapped

It’s a very merry Christmas for the cast & crew of Wonder Woman 1984. Gal Gadot went on her Instagram account to announce that production is over on the film.

“We did it. Again!! And as much as the first time shooting Wonder Woman was amazing, this time was even more unique and special.. We shot in 4 very different locations in 3 countries, and I’m so soooo proud of the almost 1000 crew members who came to set every day, giving everything they have into our movie.”

She also included photos of her with director Patty Jenkins on set of the film, which will also star Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Robin Wright.

“Couldn’t ask for better partners on this.. I’m so lucky to have the one and only Patty Jenkins, as my director. She always has our backs, she gives us the wings to dare, and everyday she helped us find the most creative version of ourselves .. I am so grateful to call her my friend. And to our AMAZINGly talented cast who made every day enjoyable and fun, thank you!”

The first ‘Wonder Woman‘ film made over $820 million at the global box office, and there is a chance this next film in the franchise could make even more.

Wonder Woman 1984 is expected to hit theaters June 5, 2020.

Gal Gadot Is Set To Star In Dwayne Johnson’s Upcoming Action-Comedy Film ‘Red Notice’

Say whaaat? Dwayne Johnson is making another action movie? Yes, it’s true. I know you’re shocked.

Johnson is teaming up with Universal again, along with writer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber, for the upcoming action-comedy flick, Red Notice. In the movie, Johnson plays an “Interpol agent tasked with capturing the most-wanted art thief in the world.”

It’s being reported this week that Gal Gadot has joined the project. No word on how big her role will be, but we have to imagine she’ll get equal screen time with Johnson.

The movie is scheduled to start filming in April of 2019 and will be released inside a theater near you June 12, 2020.

Apparently, Johnson is getting paid $20 million to star in this movie, so we know the budget will at least be $20 million. Just for reference, ‘The Purge‘ was made on a $3 million budget.

But I mean…it makes sense. People love Johnson. He is one of the hottest action stars in Hollywood right now, so of course they’re going to throw the $$$ at him. His movies might not be original, but I guess that’s why the audience loves them.

Generic blockbusters that are entertaining enough to make you forget how crappy your life is.

‘Wonder Woman 2’ Gets New Release Date, Find Out When Gal Gadot Will Return To The Big Screen

Last week, there were reports claiming Gal Gadot wouldn’t sign for a ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel unless Brett Ratner’s name was removed from the franchise. It looks like those reports were false, mostly because Gadot has already signed a deal for the sequel. She is locked in at this point.

And to prove this, Warner Bros. announced the new (official) release date for Wonder Woman 2. The new date is November 1, 2019, which is a month and half earlier than originally announced.

November 2019 promises to be a pretty huge month at the box office. MGM’s next James Bond film is scheduled to be released one week after Wonder Woman 2 on November 8. You also have an untitled fox/marvel film being released on November 22. Oh, and then there is Frozen 2 on November 27.

The first Wonder Woman film was released back in June of this year, and it’s made a total of $821 million worldwide, $412 million of that coming from the US.

We will keep you posted on this Wonder Woman sequel as more information is released!

Kate Beckinsale Finally Reveals Why She Passed On Wonder Woman Several Years Ago

Right now, Gal Gadot is the only Wonder Woman the world knows. She killed it in the role, and the movie has made almost $800 million worldwide. It’s a huge success and all parties involved must be extremely pleased with how everything turned out.

But back in the mid-2000s, there was a different Wonder Woman project floating around. The script for the unmade film was written by Joss Whedon, and at one time, Kate Beckinsale’s name was attached to the project.

She decided to decline the offer, though. And during a recent interview with Yahoo Movies, the actress explained why she passed, and she came pretty close to throwing some major shade.

“The incarnations that I was seeing were…they weren’t this one,” she said, clearly trying to censor herself. She also admitted to not being crazy about the outfits…

“I don’t know if I was desperate to be in a leotard. I’d already done the rubber trousers. You have to take in that you have a child at some point and how much could you possibly embarrass them.”

It’s worth noting that Whedon’s script leaked earlier this year, and fans of the franchise were slamming it for its treatment of the character.

Looks like Beckinsale made the right choice.

Gal Gadot Reportedly Made Just $300,000 For ‘Wonder Woman’ Is This Another Sign Of Hollywood Sexism?

Wonder Woman‘ was a huge success. You all know this. It’s made over $500 million at the global box office, and both critics and fans absolutely love it. It was one of the biggest, most refreshing surprises of the summer.

And one would think the star of the film, Gal Gadot, received a huge check for her work. But according to multiple reports, Gadot only made $300,000.

But before we call out Hollywood for sexism, we should note that Chris Evans earned roughly the same amount for the first Captain America movie. Also, you have to remember that Gadot was relatively unknown as an actress when she signed the three-movie deal, which has her getting multiple $300,000 checks. One for Batman v Superman, one for Wonder Woman and one for Justice League. That’s $900,000 total.

According to insiders, there were bonuses worked in for Wonder Woman, so she will probably earn a lot more than $300,000. And when they decide to make a Wonder Woman 2, you can bet she’ll be making millions.

TMZ reports:

“We’re told the $300k is about right, but sources familiar with the negotiations tell TMZ she has ‘huge performance bonuses’ for ‘Wonder Woman’ and she will end up with many times the base salary.”

No way she accepts another $300,000 offer.

Movie Review: Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice – After the Opening, it all Goes Downhill.

hero_Batman-v-Superman-Dawn-of-Justice-2016

God, the comic geeks must have spooged themselves when they learned that finally, all their ‘batman v superman’ arguments were coming to the movies. I never got that. To me Batman Versus Superman is the same as the ratio of ghosts to snork berries; nonexistent.  But, with the intent of becoming the wet dreams of 13-year-old boys everywhere, director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer put this together.

And now it’s time for a rant. How many times have I said “too many Superman movies”? How many times have I said “too many Batman movies?” So what do they do? Put them together. And, as if they’re making fun of me, they stick Ben Affleck in the lead.

That’s it. I quit. <typing stops abruptly, sound of footsteps, door slams>

Ok, not really. But that’s the kind of abrupt change of attitude you can expect from this newest DC adaptation. Dawn of Justice peaks in its opening sequence, a slow-motion, Sucker Punch-esque dispatching of the Batman origin story in three minutes or less, which sets the stage for the introduction of an older, broken, kinda fat Batman (Ben Affleck), who engages in increasingly violent and futile attempts to clean up Gotham City. The rest of the introductory character work sees Superman (Henry Cavill) grappling with public criticism over his actions in his last cinematic outing and the young Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) attempting to build a weapon capable of stopping Superman.

After the opening, it all goes downhill. I have to admit; I didn’t hate Ben Affleck in this. He makes a passable Batman. Henry Cavill came across better as Clark Kent. Jesse Eisenberg was almost embarrassing as Lex Luthor. It felt like he was doing an impression of Heath Ledger playing the Joker. Watching Jesse Eisenberg, I wasn’t entirely sure if he’d ever heard of Superman.

Now me, I’m not a person who has a big problem with violence. Heck, I love everything by Quentin Tarantino and he’s turned violence into an art form. But this movie seemed to be rushed in order to get to the next violent fight scene. The characters become completely interchangeable and really, you stop caring about who wins. The problem is there really are no stakes. This is such an obvious cash grab; we know that they’d never kill off anything they can franchise. Hell, if a spork tested well with a focus group, they’d give it a franchise. And I’d watch the Adventures of Sporky just like everyone else.

It’s not worth the watch, but it’s inevitable. It’s one of those bad blockbusters that everyone will go to, but eventually forget until the next one gets spit out by the studio.  They’re raking in garbage bags of money and we’re watching what they tell us to.

I’d say if it’s a choice between this and a Trump rally, I’d go with the Trump Rally. While the Trump Rally will be violent, at least Ben Affleck won’t be there.

Wonder Woman Actress Gal Gadot Responds To The Fans Hating On Her Boobs

gal

When it was announced that Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot would be starring as Wonder Woman in several upcoming DC films, fans of the beloved character were quick to criticize the decision.

But the online hate had nothing to do with Gadot’s acting abilities. Fans complained that she was too skinny to play the character, and that her boobs were not big enough. And while that might have scared some people away from the role, Gadot is not letting the criticism get her down.

In fact, she brushed off the negative comments with a fine display of humor. During a recent interview with Robot Underdog, the 29-year-old actress had this to say…

“They said that I was too skinny and my boobs were too small… When I was younger I would take criticism really hard. But now it mostly amuses me. The true amazons had one boob so it wouldn’t bother them in their archery. So it’s not going to be like real amazons. We always try to make everyone happy but we can’t.”

Good for her. That’s the correct way to respond to silly comments. I think some of these fans are a little too passionate about the characters. They have developed their own version of how the real life character should look, and if the actress or actor picked for the role doesn’t match the image in their head, they get a little crazy.

Anyway, you can catch Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It’s scheduled for a March 25, 2016 release date. And then she gets her own film in 2017, followed by Justice League Part One.

‘Wonder Woman’ Film Now Confirmed, Will Begin Filming This Fall!

gal

We knew a solo Wonder Woman movie was likely to happen, but Warner Bros. hadn’t officially given director Michelle MacLaren the green light. Mainly because ideas for the script were still being tossed around like Lego Oscar statuettes.

However, we now have some wonderful news to report. Deadline has confirmed that filming for Wonder Woman will begin this fall, which fits perfectly with the scheduled June 23, 2017 release date.

As most of you know, Gal Gadot will take on the leading role. She’s actually expected to make her first appearance as the superhero in the 2016 film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And then after her solo film, she will appear in the first Justice League movie. In short, she’s going to be really busy the next few years.

As mentioned above, MacLaren will be directing the film. We trust her because she is one of the best directors on television. Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and now Better Call Saul. Everyone wants to work with her.

We have high hopes for this film. Hopefully we’ll start receiving updates. If the report from Deadline is correct, things will start heating up very soon.
