Watch Zach Braff And Gabrielle Union In First Trailer For ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ Remake

At this point, it feels like ‘Cheaper by the Dozen‘ has been remade more than a dozen times, and Hollywood shows no signs of slowing down.

Walt Disney Studios has released the first official trailer for this new take on ‘Cheaper By The Dozen’ nearly 20 years after the popular 2003 version of the story, and over 70 years after the original film was released in 1950. And that 1950 film came two years after the book, so yeah, lots of remaking going on here.

This new version of the film stars Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union.

Described as a fresh take on the 2003 film, Disney+’s Cheaper by the Dozen tells a funny and heartwarming story of the raucous exploits of a blended family of 12, the Bakers, as they navigate a hectic home life while simultaneously managing their family business.

Gail Lerner directed this movie, while Shawn Levy (the director of the 2003 film) stayed on board as an executive producer.

The movie will hit Disney+ on March 18, 2022. Check out the trailer below…

Billy Porter Set To Direct Gabrielle Union’s Queer Teen Comedy ‘To Be Real’

Billy Porter the actor/singer is about to be known as Billy Porter the director. The ‘Pose‘ actor just finished directing the high school romance ‘What If?‘ and now he’s set to direct another one.

It was reported this past weekend that Porter has been hired to direct the upcoming LGBTQ+ teen comedy, To Be Real.

The project recently sold to Amazon Studios, which means it’ll probably skip a theatrical release and head straight to Prime Video.

Variety describes this movie as an “LGBTQ Superbad crossed with Booksmart.”

To Be Real’ follows three queer friends who escape their hometown for Pride Weekend in New York City where they discover that life over the rainbow is an insane, raunchy, often divisive, but ultimately FIERCE non-stop party.

The script was written by Ryan Shiraki, and it’s set to be produced by Gabrielle Union through her I’ll have Another Productions.

No word on when filming is expected to begin, but we’re assuming sometime later this fall/winter with a release date sometime in 2022.

Zach Braff Will Join Gabrielle Union In Upcoming ‘Cheaper By The Dozen’ Remake

What are the two things Hollywood loves most right now? Remakes and multiracial/blended families.

And with Disney’s upcoming ‘Cheaper By The Dozen‘ remake, they have a two birds one stone situation going on.

It was just announced that Zach Braff will co-star alongside Gabrielle Union in the Disney+ remake.

The story centers on a multiracial, blended family of 12, navigating a hectic home life while managing their family business.

‘Black-ish’ creator Kenya Barris wrote the script for this reimagining, and Gail Lerner will direct. They plan to release the film sometime in 2022, so it’s likely filming will begin later this year.

The original ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ was released in 1950 and was based on the autobiographical book by Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. Decades later, 20th Century Fox gave the property another spin in 2003 with a movie starring Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt as the parents to the unusually populous Baker clan.

It’s a story that keeps on giving! It may sound like I’m hating, but I really did enjoy the 2003 remake, and I’m sure this upcoming movie will be just as good.

Keith Powers Will Co-Star Alongside Gabrielle Union In Netflix Romantic Comedy ‘The Perfect Find’

Gabrielle Union has found her co-star. It was announced this week that Keith Powers is joining the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy, The Perfect Find.

The movie is based on the 2016 bestselling novel of the same name by Tia Williams.

Union stars as Jenna Jones, who is hopeful that her new job in beauty journalism will be a fresh start in her life. She soon learns that her new boss, Darcy, is her frenemy. Jenna starts a relationship with the company’s videographer, Eric, and things get complicated when she learns he’s Darcy’s son.

If we’re being completely honest, it sounds pretty generic, but sometimes that’s okay for romcoms. Sometimes all you need is good chemistry on screen and some funny moments.

Union will also be producing this flick under her I’ll Have Another banner. No word on when filming might begin, but we’re assuming it’ll get started early next year.

It’s set to be directed by Numa Perrier, who wrote/directed the 2019 film Jezebel, which you can watch right now on Netflix.
