George Clooney Talks About That Tom Cruise Coronavirus-Inspired Freakout

The internet has been debating the leaked audio of Tom Cruise yelling at crew members on the set of Mission: Impossible 7. If you missed the story/audio, you can click on this link to check it out.

Basically, someone broke COVID-19 protocol on set, and Cruise freaked out and yelled at them in front of everyone.

The internet was split on this. Did Tom overreact? Or was his rant justified? Well, Howard Stern asked George Clooney for his opinion, and he also seemed kinda split.

He made it clear that he understands why he did it, but he questions whether he did it in the best way.

He didn’t overreact because it is a problem. I wouldn’t have done it that big, I wouldn’t have pulled people out. You’re in a position of power. It’s tricky, you do have a responsibility for everyone and he’s absolutely right about that.If the production goes down a lot of people lose their jobs. People have to understand that and be responsible. It’s just not my style to take everybody to task that way.

But Clooney makes it clear everyone has their town style, and at the end of the day, the people who were on the shoot will have to be the judge.

The people who were on that shoot will tell us more about it. I understand why he did it, he’s not wrong at all, I just don’t know if I would have done it quite that personally. But I don’t know the circumstances, maybe he had it 10 or 15 times before.

And last we heard, five crew members from the set quit not long after Cruise’s freakout, so perhaps that’s them telling us.
