Julianne Moore Reveals She Was Fired From ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ And Replaced With Melissa McCarthy (VIDEO)

Yes, it’s true. Academy-award winning actress Julianne Moore was fired from a movie set recently.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Moore was asked by a caller why she left the lead role in ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?

Moore revealed she didn’t leave. She was fired by the original director of the movie. Apparently, the director didn’t like the direction Moore was taking the character and decided to fire her during preproduction.

Yeah, yeah, Nicole [Holofcener, the original director] fired me. So yeah, that’s the truth. I think she didn’t like what I was doing. I think that her idea of where the character was was different than where my idea of where the character was, and so she fired me.

As you all know, Melissa McCarthy replaced her in the lead role and her performance earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. It was a pretty special moment for McCarthy, who was mostly known for her light, comedic roles.

Moore says she still hasn’t watch the movie ’cause it’s a bit painful still, “The only other time I was fired was when I was working at a yogurt stand when I was 15. So yeah, it felt bad,” she told the audience.

The good news for Moore is that she’s back on track in 2019. Her upcoming film ‘Gloria Bell’ is getting great reviews and currently has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

James Gunn Has Been Fired From ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Franchise After Offensive Tweets From 10 Years Ago Resurface

If you want to make it in Hollywood, you probably want to go through all of your social media profiles right now and make sure there is nothing offensive on them.

James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, has been fired from the third movie in the franchise. He will NOT direct the third installment after a series of offensive tweets were ~unearthed~ this week.

In the tweets, which were posted between 2008 and 2011, Gunn joked about rape, 9/11, AIDS, etc.

“The best thing about being raped is when you’re done being raped and it’s like ‘whew this feels great, not being raped!’” one tweet read. Obviously he was joking, but you can’t be making those distasteful jokes if you want to work for Disney.

Disney sent out a statement saying…

“The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him.”

This all happened extremely fast. Heck, Gunn was scheduled to participate at Sony’s Comic-Con panel this weekend, but obviously that will not be happening now.

Gunn went on his Twitter account to apologize for his offensive tweets…

“In the past, I have apologized for humor of mine that hurt people. I truly felt sorry and meant every word of my apologies. For the record, when I made these shocking jokes, I wasn’t living them out. I know this is a weird statement to make, and seems obvious, but, still, here I am, saying it.”

We’re sure someone at Disney/Marvel knew about these tweets from the start. They’re firing him now because the tweets went viraland you know…that’s life as a public figure. Don’t say stupid sh*t, especially not on social media.

Andy Dick Fired From Movie Over Sexual Harassment Claims

Andy Dick doesn’t get a lot of work anymore, so you’d think he would be on his best behavior while on set, but apparently that’s not the case. The 51-year-old actor/comedian was fired from the independent movie Raising Buchanan following accusations of sexual harassment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dick’s wild behavior included “groping people’s genitals, unwanted kissing/licking and sexual propositions of at least four members of the production.”

Of course, this is not too difficult to believe, considering Dick is known for exposing himself on stage and groping random people. He talked to The Hollywood Reporter to tell his side of the story.

“My middle name is ‘misconduct,’ they know what they signed up for. I didn’t grope anybody. I might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them. That’s my thing — I licked Carrie Fisher at a roast. It’s me being funny.”

So Dick is trying to claim his style of comedy never evolves. He’s always going to walk around licking people because it’s the only way he knows how to get laughs from people who are equally as immature as he is.

One final note: Dick also told the site that he believes the real reason he was fired was because he brought up (and kinda defended) Harvey Weinstein while on set, “They were so incensed by what I was saying. People are so sensitive,” he said. No word on what he said exactly, but we’re sure it was truly enlightening.

It’s Official: Harvey Weinstein Forced Out Of His Own Company Following Sexual Harassment Scandal

You know you messed up big time when you’re forced out of the company you created. Harvey Weinstein has been fired from the independent film company he co-founded, which helped produce Oscar-nominated films like Lion, The Hateful Eight, and Silver Linings Playbook.

The Weinstein Company’s board of directors voted to remove Weinstein from the studio, leaving control of the business to his brother, Bob Weinstein.

The company released the standard statement you see below…

“In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days, the directors of The Weinstein Company — Robert Weinstein, Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar — have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately.”

Of course, this is coming a little too late. They’re only firing him now because the sexual harassment allegations went public. There were always rumors surrounding Harvey, and it seemed like everyone in Hollywood knew he was a sleazeball, so it’s not like these allegations came out of nowhere.

In Harvey’s “apology,” he talked about how he came of age in the 60’s and 70’s, when the rules surrounding workplace behavior were different, but that excuse doesn’t make much sense. It’s not like he simply slapped an ass or two.

He was genuinely creepy. Former Fox News reporter, Lauren Sivan, revealed Harvey once masturbated in front of her after cornering her inside a restaurant. And on Sunday, freelance writer Liza Campbell said the 65-year-old creep asked her to jump in a bath with him when she showed up at his hotel for a business meeting.

It doesn’t matter when you came of age, that behavior has never been acceptable.
