NEW TRAILER – Fast 8: The Fate of the Furious – Looks like it’s more of the same. Thank Goodness!

The “Fast” franchise is often overlooked when the great sequels are discussed.  Rocky is always at the forefront of everyone’s list, then there is the Star Wars franchise and even Lethal Weapons.  It’s easy to forget the Fast Franchise because we take it for granted.  We stamp our feet and pout demanding for the next one as soon as the credits are rolling.  Well, pout no more. We have the trailer for Fast 8.

All the mystery is over. The new film will be called The Fate of the Furious and as you can see from the trailer it appears that Dominic Toretto, (Vin Diesel) has turned on the family and now the family is teaming up with Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) to bring the real Dom back!

As with all the Fast movies, if you are not willing to suspend your belief in physics, town and state laws or the law of gravity then you will suck all of the enjoyment out of the franchise.

Following the pattern of the last 5, this has everything a Blockbuster is supposed to. Big name actors, big budget special effects, stunts and fight scenes.   At least from the trailer, it appears that fans of the franchise will not be disappointed.

The Fate of the Furious is due in theaters on April 14, 2017!

Here We Go Again, Vin Diesel Is Already Getting The ‘Fast 8’ Oscar Talk Started

Obviously Vin Diesel didn’t learn anything from the last time he tried to smash the Fast & Furious franchise together with the Oscars. A smashing that just doesn’t fit. If the Oscars and Fast & Furious were a couple, they’d be on the next episode of Maury.

But still, the actor pushed hard for Furious 7 in 2015. He told reporters that he believed it deserved to be nominated for Best Picture, which is a pretty insane thing to say. I mean, it was his baby and it was a tribute to the late Paul Walker, but it was still your typical summer blockbuster.

And now, six months before Fast 8 is released, Diesel is saying similar things, even though we all know it can’t compete with Furious 7. While speaking with ET Online, Diesel said that director F. Gary Gray went in making this film with a chip on his shoulder after failing to receive any Oscar recognition for Straight Outta Compton.

“I think he went into making this movie with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, going ‘Oh, really? Ok. Now I’m going to take the biggest saga in the world, and I’m about to throw Oscars at you.’ Wait till you see what he does!”

Don’t get us wrong, Gray is an extremely talented director, but at the end of the day, we’re talking about the Fast & Furious franchise here. There is only so much you can do with that. The only way it’ll work is if Diesel’s character accidentally runs over a kid in a wheelchair during a street race, and then spends the rest of the movie helping him recover while falling in love with the kid’s mother.

That’s the only way. And hey, it might happen. Diesel does mention how dark this movie will be…

“Fast 8 is different. It’s very dark. My character is conflicted in a way that is really going to shock you. He’s coming off of a lot of emotion from 7 and the loss that 7 represents.”

Fast 8 will hit theaters April 14, 2017.

Vin Diesel Finally Reveals The Trailer Premiere Date For ‘Fast 8’

Another post about the Fast & Furious franchise? Of course! But this time we’re not going to talk about how much money Furious 7 made or how they’re making a huge mistake by trying to drag the series out for three more films.

WE ARE NOT GOING TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT…EVEN THOUGH WE ALREADY DID.

Okay, let’s start over.

Over the last year, we’ve been getting little samples of how Fast 8 might play out. We know who will be returning, who will be joining (Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren,) and we know there was some drama on set between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, which should add to the quality of the scenes between the two stars.

One thing we didn’t know was when to expect the first trailer. That changed this week when Diesel jumped on his Facebook page to announce the first trailer will be dropping December 11. So you can think of it as an early Christmas present.

He posted this message to his page

“The trailer for F8 is going to blow your mind… New York City December 11th. You will see why there was tension, you will understand the intensity.”

The dude knows how to market a film. You can’t deny that. I wouldn’t be surprised if this ~feud~ he has with The Rock is 100% fake. I mean, it’s obviously being exaggerated either way, but I suspect the whole thing was created to get people excited.

It’s a smart move. Diesel knows how to play the game.

Vin Diesel And The Rock Reportedly Have Secret Meeting To Put A Fork In Their On Set Beef

This has been a wild week for the cast of Fast 8. They’re just one week away from completing filming, but that’s one week too long for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. As you have probably heard by now, The Rock went on his social media accounts to rant about a few of his male co-stars.

He praised the hard working crew and his female co-stars, but then dropped this delicious nugget of smack talk, “My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s–t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.”

This made the internet wonder who he was talking about in his rant. Both Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris were cleared early on, which had most of the fingers pointing in Vin Diesel’s direction.

According to multiple sources, The Rock’s rant was a direct message to Diesel. They have been getting in little arguments throughout the entire production. Diesel is a producer on the film, and he has allegedly been making some important decisions without asking how the rest of the cast feels about them first.

The two movie stars had a ~secret~ meeting yesterday to end the beef. Not because they wanted to build a new friendship, but because the tension between them was reportedly making it almost impossible to shoot certain scenes.

The good news is that filming will be over in less than two weeks. The bad news is almost everyone on set is pissed at The Rock for starting so much drama this late in the game.

We can’t wait ’til they are forced to do promotional interviews with each other. Should be fun.

Charlize Theron Will Be Joining ‘Fast 8’ Cast, But Her Role Might Surprise You

char

The next installment in Universal’s extremely successful Fast & Furious franchise continues to add more huge names to its cast. Sources have confirmed that Mad Max: Fury Road star Charlize Theron has officially joined the cast and will play an important role in Fast 8.

What will her role be? Well, we don’t have the exact details, but we do know she is playing the lead villain. It’s an interesting twist that should get fans excited.

Another thing that should get you pumped? Theron didn’t rush this decision. The studio reportedly had a meeting with her before the script was complete. She didn’t commit to anything then because she wanted to read the completed script.

Now that she has read the script, she has agreed to join the film, which means (hopefully!) that Fast 8 will continue to impress. The Fast & Furious franchise is like limited menu items at Taco Bell. Every year they get more insane and more dangerous, and you think, “No way a taco wrapped in bacon, covered in chocolate, and topped with needles is going to satisfy me,” but it does every single time!

Fast 8 will move into production next month. It’s scheduled to be released April 14, 2017. Michelle Rodriguez, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson will all return. F. Gary Gray will direct.
