It feels like Netflix releases a new movie daily. Some better than others, but for the most, the risk is low. Most Netflix projects work on a small budget, but here lately, the studio has been taking more chances.
Their latest ~chance~ was the action flick ‘Extraction‘ starring Chris Hemsworth. The movie worked with a budget just north of $60 million, which is a pretty decent amount for a streaming service.
But Netflix believed in the movie, and it looks like they knew what they were doing, ’cause the film is super hot right now. They released the movie back on April 24, and according to their own statistics, around 90 million households have at least turned on the movie.
A week or two ago, we shared a poster for the upcoming action-thriller ‘Extraction‘ starring Chris Hemsworth.
Now, we’re happy to share the first trailer. Hemsworth stars in the film as Tyler Rake, “a weathered mercenary whose combat skills are solicited when he’s sent to Bangladesh to rescue an international crime lord’s kidnapped son.”
The film was directed by Sam Hargrave, the stunt coordinator for Avengers: Endgame and Atomic Blonde.
David Harbour and Golshifteh Farahani co-star in the movie, which is set to be released on Netflix April 24, 2020.
Should be a good way to waste an hour or two of this quarantine life.
Most movie releases have been pushed back, due to the theaters being closed all across the world, but that doesn’t mean the party has to end completely.
We still have streaming platforms like Netflix, and thank God for that. They most recently provided us with Love is Blind and the incredible Tiger King documentary, and now they’re getting us ready for an action flick starring Chris Hemsworth.
Extraction, which is set to hit the streaming giant on April 24, stars Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, “a mercenary who’s tasked with liberating the son of a crime boss who has been kidnapped.”
This film marks the directorial debut of Sam Hargrave, who previously worked as a stunt coordinator on several big action flicks. The movie was written by Joe Russo, one half of the Russo brothers.
