Emma Watson Claims She Almost Quit The ‘Harry Potter’ Franchise In The Middle Of The Series

‘Harry Potter’ has been making the headlines recently, thanks in large part to HBO Max releasing a very special ‘Return to Hogwarts’ reunion special. After all, they had success with the ‘Friends‘ reunion, why not keep it going?

The bulk of the cast reunited to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the film franchise. It’s hard to believe, but the first Harry Potter film came out way back in 2001.

And while the reunion was filled with laughs and memories, there was one rather shocking revelation. David Yates, the director of the fifth installment, Order of the Phoenix, revealed that he was told Emma Watson wasn’t sure she wanted to come back.

When I started, one thing that [the producer] and the studio spoke to me about was Emma is not sure she wants to come back and do another Potter.

That’s when the other cast members started to chime in. Tom Felton reminded people that Watson had it tougher than everyone else.

People definitely forget what she took on and how gracefully she did it. Dan [Radcliffe] and Rupert [Grint], they had each other. I had my cronies, whereas Emma was not only younger, she was by herself.

Watson admitted that she was lonely at the time. She even wrote in her journal that she was lonely.

I think I was scared. I don’t know if you ever felt like it got to a tipping point when you were like, ‘This is kind of forever now.’

Grint admitted he also experienced similar feelings, trying to figure out if he wanted to continue with the franchise for years to come…

I would say I had kind of similar feelings to Emma. Kind of contemplating what life would be like if I called it a day, but we never really spoke about it. I guess we were just kind of going through it at our own pace. We were kind of in the moment. At the time, it just didn’t really occur to us that we were all kind of having similar feelings.

I suppose it shouldn’t be too surprising. After all, they started the film series when they were just, what, 10-years-old? They grew up in the spotlight. At the time, they were the biggest stars. The movies brought in billions.

But at the end of the day, we’re sure they have no regrets. They all have net worths of $50 million plus, so they’re doing just fine in life.

Because, you know, money is all that matters.

Seth Rogen Clears Up The Rumors That Emma Watson Was “Unprofessional” On The Set Of ‘This Is The End’

Back in 2013, Seth Rogen and his friends joined together to create the outrageous comedy, This Is the End. The movie was a massive hit and is still loved by many today.

Personally, I enjoyed the outtakes more than the actual film, but that’s just me.

In any event, Rogen recently had an interview with GQ, and during the interview he talked about the long-rumored incident involving Emma Watson. It was reported she walked off the set of the movie and refused to film a scene with Danny McBride.

Rogen confirmed this and said:

I mean, I don’t look back on that and think, ‘How dare she do that?’ You know? I think sometimes when you read something, when it comes to life it doesn’t seem to be what you thought it was. But it was not some terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to say goodbye. She helped promote the film. No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end.

After the interview went public, people used this quote to push their narrative about how Watson is difficult to work with. A rumor that can unfortunately ruin careers in Hollywood.

Rogen didn’t like this, so he went on Twitter to address the issue, and he made it clear Watson deserved no blame.

A recent interview I gave…misrepresents what actually happened. The scene was not what was originally scripted, it was getting improvised, changed drastically and was not what she agreed to. The narrative that she was in some way uncool or unprofessional is complete bullsh*t. I for sure should have communicated better and because I didn’t, she was put in an uncomfortable position.

Emma Watson Was Mortified When Jimmy Kimmel Surprised Her With This Hilarious Blooper From The First ‘Harry Potter’ Film (VIDEO)

Emma Watson is a huge star now, and she probably doesn’t make many mistakes while filming anymore. But when she was just starting out on the first Harry Potter film, she developed a habit that would ruin scene after scene.

Jimmy Kimmel reminded her of this habit earlier this week during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. In the video above, the 26-year-old star said…

“You laugh; this is actually quite traumatic for me. I created issues because of this. I would ruin takes. Chris [Columbus, who directed the first two HarryPotter films] would be like, ‘Cut. Emma. You’re doing it again. You’re mouthing Dan’s lines.’“

She later admitted that she just really loved the books and wanted to do a great job, so she decided to memorize every single line in the script.

“I kind of overdid it,” she said with a laugh.

Watch Tom Hanks And Emma Watson Star In Trailer For Thriller Film ‘The Circle’

It might just be the basic white guy in me, but when I hear that Tom Hanks is starring in a movie, I automatically want to see the movie. It could be 90 minutes of Tom Hanks eating peanut butter out of a jar with a spork, and I’d pay $15 to watch it.

The Circle stars Emma Watson, John Boyega and Tom Hanks. Watson plays a smart young woman who lands a job at a powerful tech company. At first, it seems like a wonderful place to work, but “pretty soon, she starts to see the true cost of ultimate transparency.”

Also, Ellar Coltrane from Boyhood has a role in this film, so it’ll be fun to see him in a completely different character.

It’s scheduled to hit theaters April 28. It looks like the perfect movie for date night. Check out the official synopsis and trailer below…

“The Circle is a gripping modern thriller, set in the not-too-distant future, starring Emma Watson (“Harry Potter”), Tom Hanks (“Sully”) and John Boyega (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”). When Mae (Emma Watson) is hired to work for the world’s largest and most powerful tech & social media company, she sees it as an opportunity of a lifetime.  As she rises through the ranks, she is encouraged by the company’s founder, Eamon Bailey (Tom Hanks), to engage in a groundbreaking experiment that pushes the boundaries of privacy, ethics and ultimately her personal freedom.  Her participation in the experiment, and every decision she makes begin to affect the lives and future of her friends, family and that of humanity.”

Emma Watson Turned Down Cinderella Before Accepting Beauty and the Beast Role, Claims Belle Is A Better Role Model Than Cinderella

Oh snap. We got some Disney beef cooking in the oven right now. Emma Watson stars in the upcoming live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. She plays Belle in the film and it’s a character she absolutely fell in love with.

Even before she knew Disney was making a remake of Beauty and the Beast, she dreamed of one day playing the character. And it was that dream that prevented her from accepting the role as Cinderella in the 2015 live-action Disney remake.

During a recent interview with Total Film, Watson explained she believes Belle is a better role model than Cinderella.

“I didn’t know they were going to make Beauty and the Beast at the time I turned down Cinderella. But when they offered me Belle, I just felt the character resonated with me so much more than Cinderella did. There’s this kind of outsider quality that Belle had, and the fact she had this really empowering defiance of what was expected of her. In a strange way, she challenges the status quo of the place she lives in, and I found that really inspiring.

She also revealed to the publication that it was a collaboration between her and director Bill Condon. They turned Belle into an inventor, like her father, “The core DNA of Belle is a feminist,” Watson said.

Beauty and the Beast will hit theaters March 17, 2017.

The First Trailer For Disney’s Live-Action Beauty and the Beast Film Is Here, Check It Out Inside!

abea

Our first look at Disney’s live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ came back in May when the first teaser trailer was released, and when we say teaser trailer, we truly mean TEASER trailer. If you missed it, you can click on this link to check it out.

We thought a full trailer would drop later in the summer, but it never came. Now, just a few weeks before Thanksgiving, Disney has finally hit us with the good stuff.

The first official trailer for the film was released Monday morning and it’s probably going to break some records on YouTube. Some of you may remember that the teaser trailer back in May had over 90 million views in just 24 hours, beating out the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

This new trailer shows more shots of Emma Watson as Belle, and offers more to us than the teaser, but also refrains from showing us too much.

Beauty and the Beast, directed by Bill Condon and starring Watson, Dan Stevens, Kevin Kline, Ewan McGregor, Josh Gad and Luke Evans, will hit theaters March 17, 2017.

Check out the trailer below…

Your First Look At Disney’s Live Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Starring Emma Watson! (VIDEO)

ema

It’s here, folks! 10 months ahead of the film’s release, Disney has decided to put out the first teaser trailer for the live-action retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The trailer premiered on Good Morning America Monday morning, and now it’s being shared all over the internet.

Since this is just a teaser trailer, don’t expect to find a lot of meat in the video below. The majority of the trailer is filled with establishing shots, and while they are beautiful, they don’t provide a lot of action. In fact, Emma Watson isn’t revealed ’til the very end, and even then we don’t see a full view of her.

But hey, that’s why they call it a teaser trailer. The film was directed by Bill Condon and written by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Jericho). In addition to Watson, you’ll also find Ewan McGregor, Dan Stevens, Josh Gad and Emma Thompson.

Beauty and the Beast will hit theaters March 17, 2017. Hopefully a legit trailer is released later this summer. We’ll keep you posted.

For now, enjoy the little taste below…

Emma Watson Grabs Lead Role In Disney’s ‘Beauty And The Beast’

bea

Disney just made the most wonderful decision since pizza companies decided to stuff their crust with cheese. It was announced yesterday that Emma Watson will be joining Disney’s live-action version of the classic, Beauty and the Beast.

She will play the lead character Belle in the film, which is being directed by Bill Condon (Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Gods and Monsters). Fans of The Perks of Being a Wallflower will be happy to hear that Stephen Chbosky is getting credit for writing the screenplay.

After the huge casting news broke, Watson went on her Facebook page to share her excitement with her fans.

emm

And while this news is extremely exciting, it’s not really surprising for the people who have been following this project for the past few years. Watson’s name was attached to the film four years ago when Guillermo del Toro was primed to direct Warner Bros.’ version of the film.

The project never did work out back then, which had to be disappointing for Watson. She has been waiting for this role for years now. It’s great to see everything finally falling into place.

She deserves all the great things in the world. Things like lead roles in Disney films and stuffed crust pizza.

Production on the film will begin later this year. We are sure more information will be released soon.

Movie Review: Noah (2014)

NOAH-Movie-PosterGladiator Gets Religion

3.5 stars

Everyone’s favorite bible story is back again. This new installment stars the even-tempered Russell Crow are the movie’s headliner.

Noah is the story of an animal hoarder (Russell Crowe) who builds a giant boat to store all his animals. Ok, well it’s a bit more complex than that. The film pretty much follows the bible story. Noah needs to build a boat for the flood. Everyone around him, including wife Naameh (Jennifer Connelly, Crowe’s “A Beautiful Mind” co-star) is skeptical. But they help anyway, because it was wacky bible times.

I’m not a particularly religious person, so I hate it when a film feels like it has the agenda to convert me. This one doesn’t do that. Instead, it follows Noah for the story that it is. While believers might find their opinions validated, those who don’t won’t feel like they’re getting the door-to-door hard sell.

Maybe that’s because the movie stars Russell Crowe. The same Russell Crow who gets into bar fights like they are a hobby and has a passionate opinion on circumcision. I just find it very hard to take a religious agenda from that guy seriously. Crowes natural ability to seem a little grey and depressed plays well into the part of Noah. He reminded me a lot of the part he played in Gladiator.

Come to think of it, every movie he’s in reminds me of the part he played in Gladiator.

noah-movie-photo-4

I will say that the movie dragged a bit. There were some seriously terrifying moments at the beginning of the flood, but not much after except for water sloshing and everyone looking wet and miserable. Weirdly, I missed a lot of this movie because I had to get up and go to the bathroom 75 times.

The special effects varied. In some cases, like the flood, they were pretty good. In others, i.e. the Garden of Eden snake, they were nearly laughable. Also, rock monsters? Were there rock monsters in the bible story? If so, there shouldn’t have been because those were just plain stupid. One minute, you feel like you’re watching an action packed mass disaster movie. The next, you feel like you’re in an episode of Xena Warrior Princess.

However, when the movie stays away from strict fantasy and focuses on action packed scenes, it shines. If it had been filmed for pure action, Noah would be an absolute winner.

As a side note, this movie fails to answer the age old question “does god like fish better?” Think about it. He chose to flood the planet, effectively eliminating every species that didn’t have gills. Are fish God’s angels?

Sorry, off topic, but it needed to be said.

Anyway, when not in CGI, Noah is a good movie to watch. The story is interesting, though it could have moved a little faster. The action scenes were tense and exciting. Russell Crowe is his usual surly self. This movie has commercial success written all over it and is currently performing at number 1 in the box office.
