Watch Jamie Foxx And Dave Franco In First Official Trailer For Horror-Comedy ‘Day Shift’

The always entertaining Jamie Foxx plays a secret vampire hunter in the upcoming action-horror-comedy film, Day Shift, from director J.J. Perry.

Foxx is a seasoned vampire hunter named Bud, who sees his home life with his wife and daughter failing, thanks in large part to his secret line of work.

While Bud’s family generally goes with the story that he works as a pool cleaner, in reality, he’s one of the many vampire hunters operating around the world to take out the blood-sucking ghouls for sizable bounties. Unlike Bud, who somehow managed to get himself booted from the union in the past, hunters like Big John Elliott (Snoop Dogg) count on their membership to get paid and stay involved in the larger fight against evil.

That’s right, Snoop Dogg also plays a vampire hunter in this wild flick. In addition to Snoop and Foxx, this movie co-stars Meagan Good and Dave Franco.

As for how the director landed Snoop? Well, he didn’t treat him like he’s Snoop.

I told Snoop when I met him, ‘Listen I’m not hiring Snoop Dogg, I’m hiring Calvin Broadus [the actor-rapper’s real name]’ and I think that really spoke to him. Everyone hires him to be that pot-smoking West Coast guy. I put a cowboy hat on him and I gave him the same swagger as my old platoon sergeant.

Day Shift will hit Netflix on August 12, 2022.

Dave Franco Will Co-Star Alongside Jamie Foxx In Netflix Vampire Flick, ‘Day Shift’

We told you a while ago about Jamie Foxx’s upcoming movie with Netflix. The film, Day Shift, follows Foxx as a hard-working blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a nice life for his daughter.

Little does everyone know…

His mundaneSan Fernando Valley pool-cleaning job is a front for his real source of income: hunting and killing vampires as part of an international union of vampire hunters.

Oh sh*t, right? The script was written by Tyler Tice and is being directed by J.J. Perry, who will be making his directorial debut. He’s previously worked as a stunt coordinator on ‘The Fast and the Furious’ and ‘Bloodshot’

It was just announced this week that Dave Franco has joined the cast, along with Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey and Natasha Liu Bordizzo.

Chad Stahelski and Jason Spitz will produce for 87Eleven Entertainment along with Shaun Redick & Yvette Yates Redick for Impossible Dream Entertainment. Foxx and Datari Turner will exec produce as will Peter Baxter.

Not exactly sure when production is expected to begin, but you have to imagine it’ll be soon with these added additions to the cast.

As always, we’ll keep you posted.

Jamie Foxx Set To Star In Netflix Comedy-Thriller Film About Vampires Titled ‘Day Shift’

It looks like Jamie Foxx has found his next gig. According to a new report, the 52-year-old actor is set to star in (and exec produce) an upcoming Netflix comedy film about vampires.

The movie, Day Shift, was written by Tyler Tice, and was reportedly discovered via screenwriting competition, so that’s pretty cool. Tice is now seeing his script come to life with help from one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Foxx will portray a hard working, blue collar dad who wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted 8-year-old daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income — hunting and killing vampires.

Sounds interesting enough, although it does make me a little more upset at Netflix for canceling The Santa Clarita Diet, which had a similar premise, except with zombies.

No word on a potential release date for this film, but JJ Perry will be the director behind the project. It’ll be his directorial debut after years of being a stunt coordinator.

Can’t wait to watch it!
