‘Creed II’ Has Released Its First Trailer, And It Looks Pretty Great!

The first ‘Creed‘ movie, which is a spin-off of the ‘Rocky‘ franchise, hit theaters back in 2015 and surprised everyone with just how good it was. It had a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and Sylvester Stallone gave one of the better performances of his career.

Now, three years later, they’re back for Creed II. The first trailer was released early Wednesday morning, and it shows a lot of heart, as we’ve come to expect from any movie in the Rocky universe.

The sequel was directed by Steven Caple Jr., and was written by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker. Both Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson have returned for this movie.

“Creed II will see Michael B. Jordan return as Adonis Johnson, son of Apollo Creed, to continue his training under Rocky Balboa in order to prep for what’s sure to be a brutal fight against Vitor Drago (Florian Munteanu), the son of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren).”

You can watch the trailer below. Creed 2 is expected to hit theaters November 21, 2018. By the way, the first film made over $170 million worldwide against a budget of just $35 million. They’ll be hoping for that same success with the sequel.

Warner Bros. Releases First Poster And Official Synopsis For Creed 2 (PHOTO)

Creed 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2015 film Creed, is scheduled to hit theaters November 21, 2018, which is only five months away now. People were beginning to wonder when Warner Bros. would start promoting the film.

Well, wonder no more. The studio released the first poster, which shows Michael B. Jordan looking all sorts of jacked. He might be in the best shape of his life.

In addition to the poster release, they also released the official synopsis you see below…

“Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family.

Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.”

The first trailer for the movie is expected to be released tomorrow, so we will obviously share that once it hits the internet.

For now, enjoy the poster.

‘Creed 2’ Begins Filming, Sylvester Stallone Shares First Behind-The-Scenes Video

You ‘Rocky‘ fans are in for a treat. It’s been nearly three years since ‘Creed‘ was released. The ‘Rocky’ spinoff was a huge hit with both the audience at home and the critics. It took home over $170 million at the box office and scored a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

And now, we’re preparing for Creed II, which is set to be released later this year. Sylvester Stallone went on his social media accounts today to share the good news that filming has officially started on the sequel.

He didn’t give us a look at any of the stars, but he did show us his trailer, so that counts for something. Steven Caple Jr. will be directing this sequel and both Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson have returned.

Collider provides us with more information:

“Written by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker (Luke Cage) and taking direct inspiration from Ryan Coogler‘s 2015 awards-worthy pic, Creed II will see Jordan return as Adonis Johnson, son of Apollo Creed, to continue his training under Rocky Balboa in order to prep for what’s sure to be a brutal fight against Vitor Drago (Florian Munteanu), the son of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren).”

Creed II is set to hit theaters November 21, 2018, so maybe we’ll see our first trailer by the end of summer. We will keep you posted.

Michael B. Jordan Reveals The Diet/Workout For The ‘Creed’ Movies Is Ruining His Social Life

You think actors have it easy? Okay, they kinda do, but that doesn’t mean they don’t also work hard. Michael B. Jordan has basically been on a strict diet for the past few years of his life. It all started with Creed in 2015, and then straight from Creed, Jordan had to maintain his physique for Black Panther.

The 30-year-old actor was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week to promote Black Panther, and during the interview, he revealed that his diet/workout is severely impacting his social life.

“Do you know how often you have to use the bathroom when you’re drinking a gallon, especially in the middle of the night. It’s hard to go out to a club or a party when you’re like, ‘Oh, wait! Meal prep! We gotta go pop this thing in the microwave and eat food,’ It’s tough to socialize when you gotta get in shape like that.”

The bad news for him? He’s not getting a break anytime soon. Production on Creed II will start in April, which means Jordan has no time to get lazy. In fact, he revealed he was headed to the gym right after the interview with Ellen.

“As soon as I leave here, I’m going to the gym,” he told Ellen. That’s when she asked him if he’d ever consider playing a “lazy” character who does nothing at all besides gain weight. Jordan laughed and said, “Imma work on that.”

By the way, you can watch Jordan in Black Panther starting February 16, 2018. Buy a ticket…THE DUDE HAS BEEN WORKING HIS BUTT OFF.

‘Rocky’ Spinoff ‘Creed 2’ Gets Official Release Date, And It’s Sooner Than You Might Expect!

You have just one more year to wait for the long-waited follow-up to Creed. It was announced this week that Creed 2 is scheduled to be released inside a theater near you November 21, 2018.

As some of you know, Sylvester Stallone has been teasing the sequel for a while now. Most people thought it wouldn’t be released until 2019, but thankfully we won’t have to wait that long. Stallone will be writing and directing Creed 2, so it should be interesting to see his vision come to life.

Stallone has also teased the possibility of a connection to Rocky IV in this upcoming sequel…

“Including another Rocky vs Drago showdown – not least because Dolph Lundgren confirmed he’d be heading to the Creed sequel earlier this year. Rocky IV saw Sly’s Rocky head to Moscow to avenge the death of opponent Creed at the hands of Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago, so perhaps revenge is a dish best served very cold indeed.”

It should be a wild ride. If they’re planning on this November 2018 release date, we have to imagine filming will begin within the next few months.

We’ll keep you posted as more information is released.

Creed 2 Is Happening And Sylvester Stallone Just Announced He Will Be Directing It!

Some huge news just dropped on the Rocky/Creed franchise. We assumed a sequel to the 2015 film would happen, but now we have official word from Sylvester Stallone that a Creed 2 is in the making.

Not only did he announce the sequel, he also revealed that he will be the one directing it. You may remember that Ryan Coogler directed the first Creed film, and it was a hit with the critics. It received a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Heck, Stallone received an Academy Award nomination for his supporting role in the film.

Stallone announced the exciting news on his Instagram account. He posted a picture of himself standing next to Michael B. Jordan, “Looking forward to directing and producing the incredibly talented Michael B. Jordan in CREED 2 next year…One more round!”

I am excited for this; however, I hope Stallone really means ONE more round. Just one. I don’t want this turning into some Fast & Furious sh*t, where it starts with simple boxing matches and ends with Jordan fighting aliens on Mars.

No release date has been announced, but if they begin filming next year as the post suggests, then it will probably be released in 2019. We’ll keep you posted.

How do you feel about the news? Are you excited Stallone will be directing the project?

Sylvester Stallone Done With Rambo Franchise, But Still Has New Ideas For Creed 2

syl

During an extensive interview with Variety, Sylvester Stallone talked about his plans for both the Rocky/Creed franchise and the Rambo franchise. This time last year it looked like we would be getting at least one more Rambo film, but now it looks like Stallone has decided to pull the plug on the idea.

Even though he had been training for the role for almost a year, the 69-year-old actor has realized his body just can’t handle it anymore…

“The heart’s willing, but the body says, ‘Stay home!’ It’s like fighters that go back for one last round and get clobbered. Leave it to someone else…. [Rambo 4] was so brutal.”

But he’s not finished with the Creed franchise. Not even close. After the success of the first film, why would anybody walk away from it? He told Variety that he and director Ryan Coogler have been discussing a few story ideas for Creed 2.

“One option would be a linear story with Adonis that mirrors the plot of ‘Rocky IV.’ You’ll have him face a different opponent, which I would say is a more ferocious, big Russian.”

The second option? Well, it appears to be the option Stallone is most excited about. A “Godfather II”-like sequel set in the past before Apollo’s death. “There’s a lot there.” Stallone claims, while also revealing he bumped into Carl Weathers recently, who apparently looks “as imposing as ever.”
