Charlize Theron Requested Protection From Tom Hardy On The Set Of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ was nominated for ten awards at the 88th Academy Awards back in 2016. It won six out of ten. The movie was considered to be one of the best films of the year, but the making of the film? Well, it was one of the worst on set experiences for Charlize Theron.

In a new book detailing the behind-the-scenes drama of the movie, Theron revealed that her relationship with co-star Tom Hardy was so volatile that she requested protection from him on set.

The book, Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road, was put together by journalist Kyle Buchanan.

According to a camera operator who worked on set, Hardy and Theron had been battling for weeks when things became explosive one memorable day. On this day, Theron and Hardy were scheduled to be on set at eight in the morning. Theron was always on time, but Hardy typically arrived late, especially during morning call times.

Charlize got there right at eight o’clock, sat in the War Rig, knowing that Tom’s never going to be there at eight even though they made a special request for him to be there on time. He was notorious for never being on time in the morning. If the call time was in the morning, forget it — he didn’t show up.

Whether that was some kind of power play or not, I don’t know, but it felt deliberately provocative.

He showed up three hours late to set that day, while Theron waited in full makeup and costume. Safe to say, she was pissed when he showed up.

She jumps out of the War Rig, and she starts swearing her head off at him, saying, ‘Fine the f**king cunt a hundred thousand dollars for every minute that he’s held up this crew She was right. Full rant. She screams it out. It’s so loud, it’s so windy — he might’ve heard some of it, but he charged up to her and went, ‘What did you say to me?’

He was quite aggressive. She really felt threatened, and that was the turning point.

After the incident, Theron didn’t feel safe around Hardy, so she requested that a female producer shadow her on set to speak up for her.

Theron admitted as much…

It got to a place where it was kind of out of hand, and there was a sense that maybe sending a woman producer down could maybe equalize some of it, because I didn’t feel safe. I kind of put my foot down. George then said, ‘Okay, well, if Denise comes…’ He was open to it and that kind of made me breathe a little bit, because it felt like I would have another woman understanding what I was up against.

Hardy admits he was in over his head while filming and that he felt so much pressure. He admittedly didn’t handle the situation well.

What she needed was a better, perhaps more experienced partner in me… I’d like to think that now that I’m older and uglier, I could rise to that occasion.

Check Out Charlize Theron In First Trailer For ‘The Old Guard’

Netflix has released the first trailer for their upcoming action/thriller, The Old Guard, which stars Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron.

Theron stars as Andy, an immortal warrior who leads a cover group of mercenaries incapable of dying.

Based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez and scripted by Rucka himself.

In addition to Theron, this movie also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Luca Marinelli and Matthias Schoenaerts.

I’ll be honest. The premise isn’t exactly grabbing me. It’s not my cup of tea, but given the current state of the world, I’ll take any new movie I can get.

At the very least, this should be an entertaining flick. It’s scheduled to premiere on Netflix on July 10, which is just a little over one month away.

Check out the trailer below…

Check Out Charlize Theron In First Look Photos From New Netflix Film ‘The Old Guard’

Charlize Theron and Netflix teamed up recently to film the upcoming action-fantasy flick, The Old Guard.

The Oscar winner stars as Andromache of Scythia, the leader of a small group of immortal soldiers.

Based on Greg Rucka and artist Leandro Fernandez’s comic book of the same name, The Old Guard tells of a small group of soldiers, led by a woman named Andromache of Scythia or Andy, who are inexplicably immortal and have been working as mercenaries through the ages.

But in the 21st century, the novelty of not dying is long gone as the group gets a jolt in their bones when they discover the existence of a new immortal, a black woman serving in the Marines, at the same time as a nefarious organization captures their undying actions on camera.

Did you get all that? I’m not sure I did, but I suppose it sounds interesting enough. Not a huge action-fantasy fan, but I feel the need to watch every film Theron stars in. She brings it every single time.

The movie is set to premiere on Netflix on July 10, which means a trailer should be coming soon.

For now, check out the first look photos…

Charlize Theron Will Play Megyn Kelly In Upcoming Film About Fox News

Are you ready for a movie all about Fox News? Annapurna Pictures is moving forward with their Fox News project, which is reportedly set to focus on the women who took on the toxic male culture hiding inside Fox.

Charlize Theron will play Megyn Kelly. Nicole Kidman will play Gretchen Carlson and Margot Robbie will play an executive producer.

It was announced this week that Malcolm McDowell will take on the role of Rupert Murdoch. The script for this project was written by Charles Randolph, the screenwriter behind The Big Short.

“Theron will produce the feature along with Beth Kono and AJ Dix via their Denver & Delilah banner. Roach, Randolph and Margaret Riley are also producing. The still-untitled project is described as an ensemble pic, with other likely characters to include former anchor Greta Van Susteren and fired host Bill O’Reilly.”

Sounds like quite the production. No word on a release date, but we will keep you posted.

Charlize Theron Confirms That ‘Atomic Blonde 2’ Is Currently Being Developed

I have mixed feelings on ‘Atomic Blonde,’ the action-thriller was released last year and it surprised a lot of people. It received mostly positive reviews from critics and made nearly $100 million at the box office against a budget of just $30 million.

I went in expecting to love the movie, but I found myself incredibly bored. I nearly fell asleep during it. It certainly had the potential to be a great movie, but it failed (at least for me) and I was pretty disappointed.

Fast forward a year later, and Charlize Theron was on Watch What Happens Live promoting her new film Tully, which is great…by the way.

During the interview, she confirmed that an ‘Atomic Blonde 2‘ was currently in development. She didn’t give a lot of details, but I’m assuming they’ll start filming later this year and it’ll be released in 2019.

By the way, she also talked about those James Bond rumors. Chris Hemsworth sparked rumors when he said that Theron should be the next James Bond. Sadly, Theron says nothing is in the works right now.

The New Trailer For ‘Atomic Blonde’ Kicks Some More Serious Butt, Watch The Action Inside!

We were pretty impressed by the first trailer for Atomic Blonde. As we have mentioned several times before, it’s difficult to make a good trailer, but the folks behind this movie are doing a great job.

David Leitch (co-director of John Wick) directed this movie, and Charlize Theron stars as a deadly MI6 assassin who gets herself into a lot of trouble.

This new trailer is better than the first, and when a movie manages to make a second trailer more intriguing than the first, that’s when we start to pay attention. The film premiered at SXSW, and a few of the reviews were mixed, but most people left the screening with positive things to say.

In addition to Theron, Atomic Blonde stars John Goodman, James McAvoy and Eddie Marsan. It’s scheduled to hit theaters July 28, 2017.

You can check out the official synopsis and the second trailer below…

“Oscar® winner Charlize Theron explodes into summer in Atomic Blonde, a breakneck action-thriller that follows MI6’s most lethal assassin through a ticking time bomb of a city simmering with revolution and double-crossing hives of traitors.

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission.  Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.”

Watch Charlize Theron Kick Some Serious Butt In Trailer For ‘Atomic Blonde’

The world premiere for ‘Atomic Blonde‘ will go down at SXSW this weekend, and Focus Features has decided to release a red-band trailer for the film to get everyone excited.

Charlize Theron plays a Brit MI6 assassin, so you can bet she will be kicking some a**. David Leitch directed this movie, which should tell you that it’s going to be super entertaining. He co-directed the original John Wick film.

We’ll let indiewire provide you with a little more information about the movie…

“Theron stars as Agent Lorraine Broughton in the film adaptation of Antony Johnson and Sam Hart’s graphic novel, “The Coldest City.” David Leitch (“John Wick,” the upcoming “Deadpool 2”) is at the helm of this Cold War spy action-thriller that follows Theron’s Broughton on the eve of the Berlin Wall’s collapse as she tries to stay alive on her mission.”

As mentioned above, Atomic Blonde will premiere this weekend at SXSW. It will hit theaters on July 28, 2017.

The New Trailer For Fast & Furious 8 Has Arrived, Watch All The Action Inside! (VIDEO)

I apologize for the lackluster title, but how many times must I fake excitement for a Fast & Furious movie? This franchise refuses to go away, and we know there are at least two more sequels planned after Fast & Furious 8, which means my hell will live on for at least a few more years.

The new trailer for the latest installment was released this week, and it features more of the same. Cheesy dialogue, a sweaty Vin Diesel, cars going above the speed limit, explosions, etc.

Apparently, Vin’s character is going rogue in this new movie. He’s going to be working with Cipher, played by Charlize Theron.

Her character is described as…

“A high-tech criminal who as part of her plan has hacked into control systems for cars in all sorts of places, and is out to cause major chaos, including for our heroes.”

Okay. Here is the trailer. It hits theaters April 12, 2017. #family

Movie Review: The Huntsman: Winter’s War – Bad Pacing, Poor Acting and a Confusing Plot

The Huntsman Winter's War [2016] IMAGE 8 - 02MAY2016

If I saw the first Huntsman movie, I couldn’t tell you. I will tell you after seeing its sequel, I doubt I ever will. One dimensional storytelling and two of the worst accents I’ve ever heard turned this into a miss for me.

This story follows Snow White and The Huntsman, though apparently Kristen Stewart was in the last one and doesn’t appear here. This sequel kind of tries to pull in some Frozen by sticking in an evil Snow Queen played by Emily Blunt. Chris Helmsworth reprises his role as The Huntsman and this time is dealing with her, and her desire to revive her sister.

Yeah, they actually tried to shamelessly cash in on two movies, by slipping a little Frozen in, though a decidedly more adult version. It’s really attacking that mass consumer index from all angles.

hero_The-Huntsman-Winters-War-2016-2 - 02MAY2016

I think an accountant may have written this movie. At least I would think that, if it wasn’t so damn pretty. Because it is a good looking movie. Every single inch of it, from the cast, to the CGI, fight scenes, backdrop and lighting is gorgeous to look at.

Then, Chris Helmsworth spits out line after line with a Scottish accent only a cartoon character would sport. Its painful to listen to. The first time he did it, I laughed in surprise. The accent was so distracting that I decided to look into the first movie, and watched a few clips.

Why was he Scottish in this movie, but not that one? Can you do that? Suddenly just become Scottish? Is that like The Huntsman’s superpower? The sudden, inexplicable ability to sound like the Scottish version of Yosemite Sam?

Huntsman

Also, I was so confused as to what was going on. I mean, seriously lost through the vast majority of it. I think this is supposed to be one of those sequel/prequels, where they slip in the backstory through the story, but the pacing was off and most of the time, I was too busy laughing at that bad accent to care.

If this was on mute, I might think it was a different movie. They invested a lot into effect, but feels like they threw together a script over a weekend and decided to let Helmsworth try out his new accent just because. The attempt to squeeze every little coin out of this franchise is sad.

It got some disappointing results at the box office. It hit number 2 in the box-office at its debut and has earned about $19 million, but I’m guessing that’s not nearly what the first one made. I think they tried to get too much out of the movie and as a result, lost the magic that likely drew viewers to the original. But I have to admit, seeing this gives me no desire at all to see the original. Bad pacing, poor acting and a confusing plot made this too much trouble to watch, despite how pretty it was to look at.

Charlize Theron Will Be Joining ‘Fast 8’ Cast, But Her Role Might Surprise You

char

The next installment in Universal’s extremely successful Fast & Furious franchise continues to add more huge names to its cast. Sources have confirmed that Mad Max: Fury Road star Charlize Theron has officially joined the cast and will play an important role in Fast 8.

What will her role be? Well, we don’t have the exact details, but we do know she is playing the lead villain. It’s an interesting twist that should get fans excited.

Another thing that should get you pumped? Theron didn’t rush this decision. The studio reportedly had a meeting with her before the script was complete. She didn’t commit to anything then because she wanted to read the completed script.

Now that she has read the script, she has agreed to join the film, which means (hopefully!) that Fast 8 will continue to impress. The Fast & Furious franchise is like limited menu items at Taco Bell. Every year they get more insane and more dangerous, and you think, “No way a taco wrapped in bacon, covered in chocolate, and topped with needles is going to satisfy me,” but it does every single time!

Fast 8 will move into production next month. It’s scheduled to be released April 14, 2017. Michelle Rodriguez, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson will all return. F. Gary Gray will direct.
