Bill Murray Talks About Inappropriate Behavior Complaint Against Him, Says He’s Learning

We told you last month that production on Aziz Ansari’s upcoming film, ‘Being Mortal‘, was stopped due to an inappropriate behavior complaint filed against Bill Murray.

The studio investigated the complaint and apparently found it to be credible enough to stop production. Sources say they had filmed around 50% of the project.

And for the first time, Murray is speaking out about the charge. During an interview on CNBC of all places, the 71-year-old actor revealed he had a “difference of opinion” with a woman he was working with on set.

I did something I thought was funny and it wasn’t taken that way. The movie studio wanted to do the right thing, so they wanted to check it all out and investigate it and so they stopped the production. As of now we’re talking and we’re trying to make peace with each other.

We’re not exactly sure who this woman is, but Murray claims he’s been in contact with her directly. If one were to speculate, Keke Palmer is the only actress listed on the movie’s IMDb page, so it’s possible she was the one who filed the complaint. We could certainly see her not wanting to take any of Bill’s sh*t.

Murray says they’re both professionals who want to finish the project, but need to trust each other in order to make it work.

We’re both professionals. We like each other’s work — we like each other, I think. If we can’t get along and trust each other, there’s no point in going further working together or making a movie… It’s been quite an education for me. I’ve been doing not much else but thinking about her for the last week or two.

Sucks for Ansari, as this was supposed to be his feature film directorial debut. In addition to Murray and Palmer, this film also stars Seth Rogen and Jimmy Walker Jr.

Aziz Ansari Set To Make Directorial Debut With Upcoming Dramedy Starring Bill Murray

Aziz Ansari might not be doing as much stand-up as he once was, likely still recovering from the dubious sexual misconduct claims against him.

He’s transitioned to a more behind-the-scenes position, but now he’s ready to jump back into the spotlight with an untitled dramedy film starring Bill Murray. Aziz will be making his directorial debut with the film, and he’s also set to co-star in it.

Oh, and of course he wrote the script as well. The story is based on the 2014 non-fiction book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by a surgeon named Atul Gawande.

Gawande’s #1 New York Times bestseller tackles the hardest challenge of his profession: how medicine can not only improve life but also the process of its ending. Details with regard to the film’s plot and the characters to be played by Ansari and Murray have not been disclosed.

Aziz will be working with Searchlight to fund/distribute this movie. Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield released a joint statement…

Aziz Ansari is an incredible talent and, with this script, he brings a singular combination of insightful humor and pathos. We’re thrilled to be partnering with him on his feature directorial debut which is long overdue, and of course working with the genius Bill Murray once again.

Hey, we’re excited too. No details on an expected release date, but we’ll keep you posted.

Check Out Bill Murray, Rashida Jones And Marlon Wayans In First Trailer For ‘On the Rocks’

Filmmaker Sofia Coppola has a pretty stacked cast for her latest feature, On the Rocks.

The ‘Lost In Translation‘ director/writer is once again teaming up with her muse Bill Murray for this dramatic comedy.

Joining them is Rashida Jones, Marlon Wayans and the always hilarious Jenny Slate.

[The film] follows a Manhattan-based writer, Laura, as she enlists the help of her playboy father, Felix, to tail her husband (Marlon Wayans) after she begins to suspect he’s having an affair with a new coworker.

Coppola has talked about how personal this film is for her. Not that she was in this exact scenario, but more about the themes the movie explores.

It’s kind of the clash of how they look at relationships and also how your relationship with your parent affects your relationships in your life. … It’s the two of them as a father and daughter sort of on a little adventure to spy on her husband. It’s a lot of them talking about life and men and women over martinis in New York.

No exact release date has been announced, but Apple/A24 did say it would be in select theaters and on AppleTV+ sometime in October.

Bill Murray Will Make Special Appearance In ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot

It didn’t look like it was going to happen. Bill Murray has been against appearing in a third Ghostbusters film for a long time, mainly because the second film wasn’t as successful as the first. He was afraid the trend would continue.

But according to The Hollywood Reporter, the 64-year-old actor has agreed to make a special appearance in the new reboot being directed by Paul Feig. The actor was spotted in Boston, MA, heading to the set of the film. No one knows how big or small his role will be.

Will he return as his original character? We don’t know. We do know that Dan Aykroyd will also make a special appearance in the film, which isn’t surprising considering he has been trying to get another Ghostbusters movie made for years now.

It’ll be interesting to see how Murray and Aykroyd fit in with this hard reboot. My guess? They’ll only appear on screen for a few seconds. Just enough time for the audience to get excited.

As mentioned above, Paul Feig will be directing. Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig, Chris Hemsworth and Cecily Strong star in the movie. It’s currently scheduled for a July 15, 2016 release.

Bill Murray Supports All-Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Film, Offers Casting Suggestions

Could an all-female Ghostbusters 3 actually happen? The answer is yes. The idea of rebooting the legendary comedy has created a heated debate online. Some people love the idea of an all-female reboot, and some people think the idea is the worst thing since purple ketchup.

But what does Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) think? Well, he’s a big fan of the idea. He told Access Hollywood the following…

“It sounds great to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor! No, it’s a grand idea, I don’t know who they’re talking about, but it’s a good idea, I would watch it!”

And he’s passionate about the idea. He even had some casting suggestions during an interview with Toronto Star.

“Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny — God, she’s funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

Melissa McCarthy is one of the obvious choices here. We learned last month that Columbia Pictures wanted Paul Feig to direct the movie. Feig and McCarthy have a long history, working together to create Bridesmaids and The Heat.

While the idea of this Ghostbusters reboot has generated a lot of buzz, it’s important to remember that nothing is official. No one has agreed to do anything; however, the amount of support seems to be growing.

What do you think? Do you like the idea?

Featurette Release for George Clooney’s “The Monuments Men”.

George Clooney;Matt Damon;John Goodman;Bob Balaban

Admittedly after reading the plot for this film I thought they were way overcast for this type of story…and I also thought it would be a little dull, but that was over 13 months ago.

An unlikely World War II platoon are tasked to rescue art masterpieces from Nazi thieves and return them to their owners.
After watching the full trailer during my viewing of “The Wolf of Wall Street”, I begin to see this movie a completely different way. This is not so much as a war movie, but more like a reverse heist movie. Sort of like The Italian Job or better yet Ocean’s Eleven and they are stealing the treasures back.

Sony has released a featurette that gives fans a behind the scenes look at the movie and attempts to expand narrow minds like mine who might have written this film off. The film, that just so happens to be co-written, directed and stars George Clooney is based on the book by Robert M Edsel entitled: The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History’. As mentioned before the film boasts a super all-star cast which includes, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Matt Damn, Jean Dujardin and Hugh Bonneville. [more…]

The author, Robert Edsel was on hand and actually on set on numerous occasions during the filming of the movie. Admittedly he did not always agree with Clooney’s direction but he said at least his viewpoints were taken into consideration. Edsel has teamed up with Clooney in attempts to get the actual team the Congressional Gold Medal by creating an online petition to be signed. You can also help to find any remaining pieces of art that you might have information on the website: Support the Monuments Men. Below is Sony’s featurette.
