Twitter Forces Mark Duplass To Apologize After Praising Ben Shapiro For Being A Nice Guy

We all know Twitter is probably the most damaging place on the internet. It’s where celebrities say stupid sh*t, it’s where employers can dig up old tweets you posted when you were young and dumb, it’s where people get offended about every single thing…it’s truly the worst. But it’s also incredibly entertaining, which is why people still use it.

Actor/filmmaker Mark Duplass went on his Twitter account this week to send out a nice tweet about right-wing pundit Ben Shapiro. The now deleted tweet simply said…

“Fellow liberals: If you are interested at all in ‘crossing the aisle’ you should consider following @BenShapiro. I don’t agree with him on much but he’s a genuine person who once helped me for no other reason than to be nice. He doesn’t bend the truth. His intentions are good.”

As you can see, he made it clear that he doesn’t agree with him on much, but he feels like he’s actually a decent guy because he has helped him in the past.

Well, Mark’s followers did not like this. They started slamming Mark for this tweet, talking about how Ben is an idiot, a racist, etc. The backlash was intense, and they basically forced an apology out of Mark.

He deleted his original tweet and replaced it with this statement…

The whole thing is pretty ridiculous. The internet has made it so easy to be outraged. It’s one thing to be like, “Come on, Mark. You can find a better conservative than Ben!” but it’s another thing to be like, “WHAT THE HELL MARK! YOU SUPPORT RACISM? APOLOGIZE!”

How did Shapiro respond to this drama?
