Adam McKay and Jennifer Lawrence just completed the satirical science fiction film ‘Don’t Look Up‘ and apparently they really liked working together, because they’re teaming up once again.
It was announced this week that Apple Original Films will finance and distribute McKay’s upcoming drama ‘Bad Blood’ which is about the shocking rise and fall of Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes.
Jennifer Lawrence will star in the film, which was originally set up with Legendary back in 2016. Currently, the subject of this movie, Holmes, is nearing the end of her very real trial on charges of defrauding investors and patients on claims she made about her blood testing startup.
Holmes’ Silicon Valley blood testing startup catapulted the Stanford dropout to short-lived status as the youngest and richest self-made billionaire as shares of Theranos became the darling of the venture capital set. It all came tumbling down after an expose by former WSJ investigative reporter John Carreyrou.
Definitely sounds like a project McKay can deliver on. We’re assuming Lawrence will star as Holmes, so that should be very interesting. Lawrence will also join the project as a producer.
No word on when filming is expected to begin, but we’ll keep you posted.
