Watch The First Trailer For ‘Death on the Nile’ Starring Annette Bening And Armie Hammer

Well, Disney is moving forward with Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming murder-mystery, Death on the Nile.

The movie has been hit with some setbacks, mostly because of the drama surrounding Armie Hammer. As most of you know, the actor faced multiple sexual assault accusations and even some reports of a cannibalism fetish, which is all kinds of weird.

He was dropped by a few movies he was set to film, but unfortunately for the cast & crew of Death on the Nile, he had already completed filming.

Some people wondered if Disney would hold the film back for a couple years, or just quietly release it on streaming, but it looks like they’re moving forward with a February 11 release date inside theaters.

The studio released the first trailer for the movie this week. In addition to Hammer, the movie stars Gal Gadot, Rosie Leslie, Russell Brand, Tom Bateman, and Sophie Okonedo.

In the film…

Hammer plays a newlywed, Simon Doyle, alongside Gadot’s Linnet Ridgeway Doyle. Branagh’s detective Hercule Poirot is tasked with finding the murderer of a young heiress aboard a cruise ship on the Nile River.

Josh Duhamel Emailed Armie Hammer To Wish Him Well Before Replacing Him In ‘Shotgun Wedding’

If you somehow forgot, Armie Hammer was basically accused of being a freaking cannibal and was forced to remove himself from the upcoming romantic comedy, Shotgun Wedding.

He was supposed to film the movie alongside Jennifer Lopez, but then everything went to sh*t when several women accused him of sexual misconduct. They also shared texts of him basically craving their body parts and blood.

Anyway, Josh Duhamel signed on to replace Hammer in the movie, and they recently wrapped production on it. And during a recent interview, Duhamel shared that he reached out to Hammer via email.

I know Armie a little bit, and when I knew I was gonna get the part, I emailed him and said, ‘Listen, I know you are going through it right now, I don’t like to get roles like this and I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and good luck, get through it,’ He emailed me right back and said thank you so who knows, hopefully he gets through it.

“Who knows” is right. Hammer has since been dropped by his publicist and his agent. You know things are bad when your publicist drops you.

Hammer’s estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, spoke out about the messy situation back in February.

For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that has transpired. I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated. Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know.

My sole focus and attention will continue to be on our children, on my work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for all of the love and support.

As for Shotgun Wedding? Well, it’s expected to hit theaters in June 2022.

It’s Official, Josh Duhamel Is Taking Over For Armie Hammer In Jennifer Lopez Comedy ‘Shotgun Wedding’

After it was revealed Armie Hammer was a cannibal in training, the 34-year-old actor decided to step away from the spotlight, which meant dropping his upcoming roles.

He was set to star alongside Jennifer Lopez in the upcoming action-comedy, Shotgun Wedding. The movie was set to begin filming this month.

But due to the controversy surrounding him, he dropped out at the last minute, and the producers had to scramble to find some other white guy to replace him.

Thankfully, they had a full ocean of white dudes to choose from. It was just announced that Josh Duhamel has officially joined the project.

We couldn’t be happier for our bride and groom of this Shotgun Wedding, We know Josh and Jennifer will make a compelling and sexy on-screen couple and they will be fun sparring partners as their dream destination wedding erupts into a memorable nightmare.

Now that they’ve found the new co-star, we’re assuming filming will take place later this month.

The logline can be found below:

Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Duhamel) gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage

No word on a potential release date, but we’ll keep you posted.

Josh Duhamel Set To Replace Armie Hammer In ‘Shotgun Wedding’ Amid Cannibalism Controversy

I didn’t think I’d ever write a title like that, but apparently that’s where we are at in the world.

As you’ve probably heard, Armie Hammer has been making the headlines for the past couple weeks after an ex-girlfriend of his leaked loads of text messages from him.

And some of those text messages were, uh, a little disturbing. He talked about eating body parts and having to stop himself from biting her because he didn’t know if he’d be able to stop himself.

Because of the controversy surrounding him, he decided to drop out of the upcoming romantic comedy ‘Shotgun Wedding‘ with Jennifer Lopez. The movie is set to begin filming very soon, and he decided it would be too much of a distraction to continue on.

Now we are hearing that Josh Duhamel is in talks to replace him. A deal is close to being finalized, according to reports.

Duhamel would star as Tom, opposite Lopez’s Darcy, in the film about a couple who gathers their families together for a destination wedding. Things start to go south, however, after the pair gets cold feet. But it really takes a turn for the worst when the entire wedding party is taken hostage.

The project was first announced in the fall of 2020, before the world knew Hammer wanted to eat people.

Armie Hammer Drops Out Of ‘Shotgun Wedding’ Comedy Amid Bizarre Social Media Scandal

We told you a couple months ago that Armie Hammer was set to star alongside Jennifer Lopez in the comedy film, Shotgun Wedding.

The film was just purchased last month and filming was supposed to begin very soon, as in later this month or next month.

But now, the cast & crew are scrambling to replace Hammer. Why? Because he’s in the middle of a bizarre social media scandal. You see, it’s been reported before that he cheated on his wife and had a ~mild~ sex addiction, which fine…whatever, what celebrity hasn’t, right?

This new stuff though? It’s wild. Someone leaked messages that were reportedly sent by Hammer, and in the messages, Hammer talks about wanting to drink this girl’s blood. He shared some pretty graphic sexual fantasies, including cannibalism.

Now, the legitimacy of these messages are being questioned. Hammer has come out to deny them, and they do appear to be a little scripted.

But still, he requested to drop out of the role because he didn’t want to leave his family during this time.

I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.

If these messages are indeed 100% fake, then that’s pretty sh*tty, and I would assume Hammer could possibly take this person to court.

In any event, he’ll be just fine. He’s still a millionaire.

Jennifer Lopez And Armie Hammer Set To Star In Action-Comedy ‘Shotgun Wedding’

Jennifer Lopez has never been known as a great actress, but her recent performance in the award-winning film ‘Hustlers‘ has people wondering if she’s finally found something.

And it looks like her next shot to prove her acting skills are improving will be in the action-comedy, Shotgun Wedding. Armie Hammer will co-star in the movie, which is being directed by Pitch Perfect’s Jason Moore.

The film follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Hammer), who gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage.

I suppose it sounds interesting enough. The script was written by Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether. Hammer wrote the indie flick ‘Two Night Stand‘ back in 2014. Meriwether created the hit comedy series New Girl.

Production is expected to begin early next year, so depending on how quickly they move, it could be released in late 2021 or early 2022.

Watch Armie Hammer And Lily James In First Trailer For ‘Rebecca’

Netflix has decided to gift us with the first trailer for ‘Rebecca’ starring Armie Hammer and Lily James.

The movie, which was directed by Ben Wheatley, is based on Daphne du Maurier’s Gothic novel. The novel was previously turned into a film back in 1940 by the legendary Alfred Hitchcock.

Not sure why they want to mess with a classic, but here we are. The story follows a young newlywed who arrives at her husband’s family estate and finds herself in the shadows of his first wife, Rebecca.

Naive and inexperienced, she begins to settle into the trappings of her new life, but finds herself battling the shadow of Maxim’s first wife, the elegant and urbane Rebecca, whose haunting legacy is kept alive by Manderley’s sinister housekeeper Mrs. Danvers.

The film is set to hit Netflix on October 21, and just based on the trailer, it looks surprisingly decent.

Timothee Chalamet And Armie Hammer Officially On Board For ‘Call Me by Your Name’ Sequel

Back in 2017, a little film titled ‘Call Me by Your Name‘ took the world by storm. It was praised by critics, loved by the general audience, and went on to win several awards.

The coming-of-age gay romance drama is of course based on the novel of the same name, and that novel does indeed have a sequel titled Find Me, which features the same characters 10 years later.

Director Luca Guadagnino recently revealed in an interview that both Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer are ready to go for a sequel.

Of course, it was a great pleasure to work with Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg, Esther Garrel and the other actors. Everyone will be in the new movie,

Unfortunately, much like with everything else, production on the film has been delayed. Guadagnino said before this pandemic, he was set to meet with a screenwriter in the states about the sequel.

Before coronavirus, I made a trip to the United States to meet a screenwriter I love very much, whose name I don’t want to say, to talk about the second part. Unfortunately, we had to put it on hold.

Movie Review: The Man from Uncle – A Fun Exciting Romp That Redefines The Espionage Movie

hero_TheManFromUNCLE_2015_1 - 25AUG2015

I have to admit I was a bit worried when I saw the Man from U.N.C.L.E. coming so soon on the heels of a Mission Impossible release. Much like Mission Impossible. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is a spy movie adapted from a popular TV show. Unlike Mission Impossible, I never saw the show. If I had, I probably would have noticed how truly different the two films are.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is centered around the CIA in the early 60s. It has the bright, playful technicolor feel that was so popular in the 60s, setting it off as different from the beginning. Henry Cavill plays Napoleon Solo, a former master-thief blackmailed by the CIA (represented by a nasty-raspy Jared Harris) into becoming a secret agent. Cavill is a debonair womanizer who wears thousand dollar suits and delivers smart aleck lines with perfect timing. He’s a play on old school James Bond, but with a bit less tension. He’s partnered up with Illya Kuryakin, a former KGB agent who has flipped sides in order to fight a nuclear armed organization.

The characters were caricatures but in this movie, that’s a good thing. The whole thing has a bit of a cartoony feel and it’s pretty clear that Guy Richie was having a lot of fun playing with the clichés. It’s a movie that celebrates the cliché to the highest order, making it clear that’s it’s laughing at itself.

12-the-man-from-u-n-c-l-e-armie-hammer-henry-cavill - 25AUG2015

This is a hard thing to pull off, but they managed to do so pretty cleanly. The movie hits just about every major cliché an action franchise can, from love interest in trouble, to mismatched buddy comedy, to evil genius bent on world domination. This is all done in a tongue in cheek style that tells you the makers knew exactly what they were doing and still managed to give it a newer twist.

Much of that had to do with the talent of the leads, both of which were played true to character. While I think the female lead could have been done better, the two males pretty much define the word “mismatched”. It’s like the odd couple joined the CIA.

I do have to say this is a clear attempt to create a new franchise, and I really don’t think that’s necessary. While a good movie, the gimmick will feel tired a second time around. It’s a joke that’s hilarious the first time you heard it, but not so great the second.

That’s not to say that this movie isn’t worth the watch. It’s a fun exciting romp that redefines the espionage movie and makes fun of the genre at the same time. The retro 60s feel added something special to the movie and the clever use of color gave this movie a vibrant, stylish feel.

It’s a fun movie, with great characters and an easy to follow premise. While it’s clearly been done and timed in order to capitalize on the success of the Mission Impossible franchise, it doesn’t feel like the same thing. It’s a new twist on an old genre.
