Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom And Sterling K. Brown Set To Join Voice Cast For ‘The Angry Birds Movie 2’

The first ‘Angry Birds‘ movie received mixed reviews from critics when it was released in 2016, but got an A+ from the general audience. It made nearly $350 million at the box office against a budget of $73 million.

And when a film performs that well at the box office, what does that mean? SEQUEL! ‘The Angry Birds Movie 2‘ is set to hit theaters September 20, 2019, and they’re adding some fresh voices to the mix.

It was revealed this week that Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), Leslie Jones (SNL) and Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) will be joining the cast. We know that Jones will be voicing a villain character, but we do not know the details behind the other roles.

Jason Sudeikis will be returning as Red, Josh Gad will return as Chuck and Bill Hader will be back as Leonard.

“The Angry Birds Movie 2 is directed by Thurop Van Orman (Adventure Time) and co-directed by John Rice (Rick and Morty) based on a screenplay by Peter Ackerman (Ice Age).”

It should be another entertaining ride. It’s hard to believe this all started as a simple iPhone game.
