One thing you can say about almost every Nicolas Cage film is that they’re entertaining. They may not always be good (I’d argue most are though) but they are always entertaining.
And his latest thriller film, Pig, looks to be both entertaining and good.
Cage stars in the film as Rob, a truffle hunter who lives alone in the wilderness in Oregon. The story gets going when he asks for help from a truffle salesman (Alex Wolff) to find his beloved pig after she was pignapped.
If that doesn’t sound amazing to you, then I’m not sure we can be friends. It’s like John Wick, but with a pig and Nicolas Cage.
While speaking to Variety, Wolff talked about what it was like working with the legendary Cage, and he had nothing but positive things to say…
We talk almost every few days. We text all day and he FaceTimed me like two days ago, and we really support each other and help each other with things. We started making the movie when we were both going through very similar personal things in our life and we bonded over it immediately and connected and were very emotionally open with each other. We just became best friends.
It’s a love story for the ages. Watch the trailer for Pig below, and then mark your calendars for its release on July 16.
