Complete with an intro from Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, the first red band trailer for the film based on the rise of N.W.A., has been released online. The trailer was teased during the Grammys Sunday night, which was a brilliant piece of marketing by Universal Pictures, the company responsible for distributing the movie.

Straight Outta Compton is said to follow “the meteoric rise and fall of N.W.A.” and will tell “the astonishing story of how these youngsters revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural war.”

The film stars, Jason Mitchell as Eazy-E, Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre, Aldis Hodge as MC Ren, and Paul Giamatti will be starring as N.W.A. manager Jerry Heller. It took a long time (and a lot of hard work) to get this film made, so we are hoping it delivers. The trailer definitely has us excited, but we have been fooled by slick trailers before.

Check it out down below, and be sure to watch the film once it hits theaters on August 14th, 2015.
