Steven Yeun Teaming Up With Robert Pattinson In Upcoming Bong Joon Ho Thriller

If you know anything about movies, then you know South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon Ho is one of the most talented storytellers in the business. His most recent film, Parasite, won Best Picture at the Oscars, and for good reason. It was fantastic.

And now, he’s setting up his next film. It was announced this week that Steven Yeun has been cast to star alongside Robert Pattinson in the project, which has been described as a sci-fi thriller.

The story is actually based on Edward Ashton’s novel, Mickey7.

It follows an ‘expendable’ — a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim — who refuses to let his replacement clone, dubbed Mickey8, take his place. Plot details for the movie have not been confirmed, and it’s not clear how closely Bong (who is also writing the screenplay) plans to stick to the source material.

In addition to Pattinson and Yeun, the cast also includes Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette and Naomi Ackie, so he has some heavy hitters.

Not only will Bong write and direct this project, he’ll also produce through his company Offscreen.

We’re not sure when filming is set to begin, but hopefully soon. We need another Bong Joon Ho feature.
