Spider-Man: Homecoming‘ hit theaters across the country on Thursday and it had an extremely successful opening day. It brought home over $15 million at the box office. It played at 3,450 locations last night and will expand to 4,348 theaters today.

The $15.4 million total is a good sign. Experts believe it could make as much as $100 million during its opening weekend, and it honestly might be more than that because it will benefit from the positive reviews coming out. The film currently sits at a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 176 fresh reviews to just 12 rotten reviews.

Most critics were surprised by how good this movie was. Typically, when a movie credits six screenwriters, it’s going to be a confusing mess of a movie.

But somehow, Spider-Man: Homecoming works. Gary Wolcott from the Tri-City Herald claims Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man ever…

“Best Spider-Man ever. Maguire so-so, Garfield too dark. Holland’s SM is brash & funny as hell like the original comic. Well done. Most fun I’ve had in a theater all year.”

I’m not sure how any film will be more fun than Baby Driver this year, but I’m willing to give this a shot. Have you watched it yet? If so, what did you think?
