Yesterday, a delightful surprise hit the internet. Someone leaked audio of Tom Cruise yelling (and we mean yelling) at crew members on the set of Mission: Impossible 7 for breaking COVID-19 protocols.
Apparently, the thing that set Cruise off was seeing two crew members stand within six feet of each other while watching something on a monitor.
And while that might sound like a minor slip up, film sets can’t afford to make a mistake, especially not a movie as big as Mission: Impossible.
I’m on the phone with every f–king studio at night, insurance companies, producers. They are looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf–kers.
f I see you do it again, you’re f–king gone. And if anyone on this crew does it, that’s it — and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever f–king do it again. That’s it.
The quote really doesn’t do the clip justice. You need to HEAR Cruise’s voice. He sounds like he’s about to explode. Another interesting thing is that you can clearly tell he’s screaming through a mask, so that’s pretty impressive.
Word is Tom has taken it upon himself to do safety inspections on the set, and literally goes around making sure everything is up to snuff as far safety and approved protocols.
‘M.I. 7’ has had prior shut downs due to COVID protocols … which probably just adds to the pressure that was evident in this verbal explosion.
Dude must be under a a lot of pressure. Most people are celebrating this video, but I don’t know…he seems a little too angry to me. Like this is standard behavior for him, even when there is not a pandemic.
But who knows. At the end of the day, you know you’re in for some intensity if you’re working with Cruise on a movie set.
