Last month, we shared the trailer for ‘Green Book‘ with you all, and we told you that the film had the potential to win some awards.

Well, guess what? It just won its first award of the season, and it’s a big one. The comedy-drama starring the great talents Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali took home the top People’s Choice honor on Sunday at the Toronto International Film Festival.

That’s the biggest award of the festival. Past winners include 12 Years a Slave, Room and La La Land. So it’s safe to say Green Book is set up nicely for the Oscars.

“In Green Book, Mortensen plays an Italian-American bouncer hired to chauffeur a black classical pianist (Ali) on a concert tour through the deep South in the 1960s. On the road, they must rely on ‘The Green Book,’ a guide book to the few hotels and restaurants that accept African-Americans.”

Check out the trailer below. It looks great. One of the films I’m most excited to watch this year. It’s set to hit theaters November 21, 2018.
