‘Breaking Bad‘ is one of the greatest television shows ever made. If you disagree with that, it’s probably because you haven’t watched it or you’re just a strange person who probably likes cherry-flavored candy.
The finale aired back in 2013, and the show’s universe has been kept alive thanks to the spinoff series Better Call Saul. And for the most part, that’s been enough for fans.
But now we’re hearing reports that Vince Gilligan is going to surprise fans with a ‘Breaking Bad’ movie. Details on the project are hard to come by, but the Albuquerque Journal claims the film “tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.”
Production on this film is scheduled to begin later this month in New Mexico. We don’t know if this will be a prequel or perhaps a follow-up to the events of Breaking Bad. We also don’t know if Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul will be involved.
But we do know Gilligan wrote the script and will possibly even direct the movie.
“Gilligan, sources say, will pen the script, executive produce and possibly direct. Breaking Bad and prequel series Better Call Saul exec producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are also said to be attached to the film project.”
Interesting stuff. We will keep you posted as more information is released.
