Rob Zombie’s style of directing might not be for everyone, but for some people, it is everything. Back in 2005, Zombie released one of his best films, The Devil’s Rejects. It was a spinoff of his directorial debut, House of 1,000 Corpses.
For those who don’t remember, The Devil’s Rejects ended in a huge shootout scene that appeared to end the lives of Captain Spaulding, Otis and Baby. It was assumed that the Firefly family was dead.
Which makes this news from Bloody Disgusting a bit confusing. The site has confirmed that Zombie will direct a follow-up to The Devil’s Rejects. We’re not sure if it will be a spinoff or possibly a prequel, but we know the 52-year-old filmmaker is going to bring back the franchise.
It’s news we should have expected. He had been teasing a return to the franchise for several months now. No word on when he plans to start filming, but we will keep you posted.
By the way, if you want to check out some of Zombie’s latest work, you can watch the trailer for ’31’ below. Zombie wrote and directed the horror flick, which follows five kidnapped carnival workers.
