The leaked Sony emails from 2014 revealed more than we ever wanted to know about the inside of Hollywood. You had racism, sexism and one insane idea to combine the 21 Jump Street franchise with the Men in Black franchise.

Even though there were several emails referencing this crossover idea, we never actually thought it would happen. But according to a recent report from Variety, the movie is still being developed and the studio is currently talking with James Bobin (The MuppetsAlice Through the Looking Glass) in hopes he will agree to take on the film.

And while sources admit the official greenlight hasn’t been given, the studio wants a June production start date. It seems like Sony is wanting to bring the Men in Black franchise back to life with this movie. They want to relaunch the series by adding “younger and fresher faces,” which means Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be returning.

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum would be teaming up with the new Men in Black actors to create this movie, so it will still have all the star power it needs to be successful at the box office.

We’ll see how this situation plays out. The script has reportedly been completed and studio executives are happy with it.
