Well, fans who attended Brazil Comic-Con in Sao Paulo Thursday were delighted with a special treat. They were given the first look at Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock in Venom.
Director Ruben Fleischer appeared on camera via satellite from the set in Atlanta to talk about how precious this photo is…
“Up until this point, we’ve had a closed set—no visitors, no press. Nobody’s been here. So, you guys are the first people in the world to visit our stages. We want to be as true as possible to the comics with our film, but our story is primarily based on The Lethal Protector and the Planet of the Symbiote books. I can promise you badass action, Venom’s dark humor and I can also promise you an absolutely stunning performance by Tom Hardy.”
According to the reports, fans were screaming with excitement as Ruben talked to them, so apparently they were happy with what he had to say. I have to be honest with you, The Lethal Protector and the Planet of the Symbiote mean absolutely nothing to me. I have no idea what that means for the movie. You all should know I’m not a big comic-book guy, so I apologize for bringing you only the basics here.
Anyway, this Venom film will also star Michelle Williams as Ann Weying. It’s set to hit theaters October 5, 2018.
