Her motherly performance in Richard Linklater‘s Boyhood earned her an Oscar earlier this year, and now Patricia Arquette might take on a similar role in Toy Story 4. According to a report from The Wrap, Arquette is currently in talks to voice a character who is described as, “a laid-back, hippie-ish mom.”
And now that we know this upcoming film will be more of a romantic comedy featuring Woody and Bo Peep, we have to wonder where this “laid-back mom” character fits in. As of right now, we don’t have any ideas to throw your way, unless she is replacing the actress who voiced Bonnie’s Mom in Toy Story 3.
We’ll just have to wait and see, folks. We talk as if this movie is about to be released next year. Toy Story 4 is not expected to hit theaters until June 15, 2018. We still have a long wait.
The good news is that we do know Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will be returning, and the script was written by the lovely Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
Hopefully they figured out some way to match the wonderfulness of Toy Story 3. If not, there are going to be millions of people yelling, “WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST LEAVE IT ALONE?!!!?”
