Paramount Hires Jeff Nichols To Write/Direct New Film Based In ‘A Quiet Place’ Universe

The 2018 horror/thriller ‘A Quiet Place‘ was a huge hit for Paramount. The movie was loved by critics and the general audience, bringing in over $340 million at the box office on just a $20 million budget.

As most of you know, the studio already set up a sequel, A Quiet Place Part II. The film was supposed to hit theaters this year, but due to the pandemic, it was pushed back until April 2021.

And now we are learning that there is going to be a third film in the franchise. This new movie will be written/directed by Jeff Nichols, based on an original idea by John Krasinski, who of course directed both the original film and the sequel.

They are keeping details of the new plot under wraps, but I would not be surprised if this was not a straight sequel, but rather broadened the world that the original introduced, plopping viewers in a post-apocalyptic world where survivors are struggling to stay alive by being quiet, as monsters with ultra sensitive hearing hunt them.

That’s the idea here. This version will probably not follow the cast of characters we know from the original film. Instead, it’ll likely be told in the same timeline, but following a completely different family.

Maybe this film will focus on the early early days of the invasion. After all, the first movie just placed you right inside the world, which is fine…but sometimes you want to explore the world a little.

According to the report. this third film is scheduled to be released sometime in 2022.

We’ll keep you posted.
