Every year is a good year for Nicolas Cage, but 2018 was a very good year. He finally won back the critics with his performance in the thriller/horror film Mandy. The movie sits at a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and perhaps even more impressive, it has an 81% on Metacritic.
Now Cage is teaming up with the producer of ‘Mandy’ to create another horror film titled Color out of Space. Principal photography is set to begin next month with filmmaker Richard Stanley directing his first feature in over 20 years.
“Color out of Space centers on a family who moves to a remote farmstead in rural New England to escape the hustle of the 21st century when a meteorite crashes into their front yard, resulting in the land and the properties of space-time being infected with a strange, otherworldly color. To their horror, the family discovers that this alien force is gradually mutating every life form that it touches.”
Yep. That sounds like some Nicolas Cage sh*t right there. This sounds like the type of film that will have ample opportunity for a classic Cage freakout.
No word on a release date, but with filming starting next month, it’ll likely be released in 2020. We’ll keep you posted.
