You probably haven’t heard much about this film. Mainly because there have been so many great movies being released lately, but also because the idea behind Vice isn’t new or surprising.
That idea being a robot becoming self-aware. Several films have explored this idea, including the upcoming film Chappie directed by Neill Blomkamp. Robots with feelings have become more common than losing a sock while doing laundry.
However, the concept behind this particular film does sound a little intriguing. Bruce Willis stars in the film as the owner of the ultimate resort, which gives humans the chance to act out their sickest fantasies. It’s basically like The Purge, except the people are murdering and raping lifelike robots instead of their neighbors.
Ambyr Childers plays the self-aware robot. Her character begins experiencing flashbacks to the crimes committed against her, so she escapes the resort and finds help from Roy the Cop, played by Thomas Jane.
The film was directed by Brian A Miller (The Prince), and was written by Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio. Miller, Passmore, Fabrizio and Willis all worked together in The Prince.
You can check out the trailer and poster down below. It’s set to hit theaters January 16, 2015. Hopefully Bruce Willis enjoys promoting this film more than he did Red 2.
