If you haven’t heard the news, one of Netflix’s most successful original shows, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, will reportedly end after this upcoming fourth season.

The first part of season four is set to premiere on May 30 with six new episodes. The premiere date for part two of the final season hasn’t been announced, but we are hearing rumors that the creator/producers of the show want to end things with a movie.

“The movie would be written by series co-creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock after they wrap work on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s upcoming fourth season, which is currently in production. Netflix and Uni TV declined comment.”

It would act as a series finale. No word on when it might be released. They could release it along with part two of season four, or it could be released a year later. No one knows at this point, but the idea is certainly an interesting one.

In total, the show has received 16 Emmy nominations, including three for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Not bad for a series that was originally passed on by NBC.
