Netflix is close to securing one of the biggest deals to ever emerge out of the European Film Market.

The streaming giant is set to purchase world rights to the upcoming thriller ‘The Good Nurse‘ for a record $25 million. The movie, which stars Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne, is based on the book by Charles Graeber about the true story of serial killer Charlie Cullen.

Now called ‘Angel of Death’, Cullen was a married father who was thought to be a responsible caretaker, but his secret compulsion to take life led to his implication in the deaths of as many as 300 patients over 16 years, spread across nine hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Redmayne will play Cullen in the movie and Chastain will play the nurse whose determined pursuit helped take him down.

The full cast is still being locked down and filming is expected to begin later this year, which likely means it’ll either be released late 2020 or 2021.

We’ll keep you posted.
