Late last year it was revealed that Dave Chappelle was about to make a return to the comedy special game in a big way. The 43-year-old comedian signed a (reported) $60 million deal with Netflix. It’s a three special deal, and the streaming company is reportedly paying $20 million for each.
We’re still not 100% sure those numbers are accurate, but that’s not the point. The point is we’re about to be blessed with some new material from Chappelle.
And thanks to the teaser trailer below, we know exactly when we can see this new material. Two of the three specials will be released on March 21. That’s right, you have just a few more weeks to wait.
This is HUGE news. Chappelle hasn’t recorded a stand-up special in 12 years. The two specials being released later this month are reportedly from two shows he did before signing the deal. The performances were filmed in Austin and Hollywood.
