If you’ve been waiting for a new Neill Blomkamp film to drop, well, the wait is almost over. The 41-year-old director hasn’t released a feature film since 2015. He’s worked on plenty of short films, but no features.
Thankfully, that’s about to change. His latest horror feature, Demonic, has just released its first trailer.
Demonic is a horror movie about a young woman who unleashes some terrifying demons. There’s obviously more to the story than that, but everyone is playing things close to the vest here.
The details surrounding this film are hard to come by. Even the trailer doesn’t give away too much.
The movie stars Carly Pope, Michael Rogers and Chris William Martin. This project was both written and directed by Blomkamp.
For those who don’t remember, Blomkamp became a hot name in Hollywood following the release of District 9 back in 2009. The movie was loved by critics and made over $200 million at the box office against a budget of just $30 million.
Demonic is set to hit select theaters, as well as VOD, on August 20, 2021. Check out the trailer below…
