Michael Bay Is Hoping To Team Up With Jake Gyllenhaal For New Thriller ‘Ambulance’

Michael Bay had been searching for his next project for months, and it looks like he has finally settled on one.

According to multiple reports, the 55-year-old filmmaker will direct the action-thriller ‘Ambulance‘ with Jake Gyllenhaal in talks to star.

Not much is known about the plot, but insiders say the film is similar in tone to great action thrillers of the 90s like Speed and Bay’s Bad Boys.

One can only assume that there is some hostage situation on an ambulance, and Gyllenhaal plays an EMT trying to save someone’s life while dealing with a gunman. That’s my guess anyway. I could be completely wrong.

Chris Fedak wrote the original script, and sources say it’s likely Universal Pictures takes up the package.

Bay wants to start filming at the beginning of January, so he’s wanting to move pretty quickly.

This production itself will already be quiet the feat to undertake but if there is anyone that can tackle the challenge its the veteran director who has made a career of taking on tough productions. Bay has already had a busy 2019 as a producer on the STX thriller Songbird, a pioneering film that became of the first productions to shoot during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’ll keep you posted as more information is released.
