Mel Gibson And Vince Vaughn Will Star In A Film About Police Brutality, And It Sounds Like They Might Be Defending It?

I like Vince Vaughn. He seems like a decent guy. He is funny, his “I can’t believe this sh-t” face is one of the best in Hollywood, he’s great at improv, and he starred in Swingers.

But his strengthening friendship with Mel Gibson is starting to concern me. Vaughn had a supporting role in Gibson’s latest film, Hacksaw Ridge, which is cool. He wants to take some more serious roles and Gibson is giving him a chance? We can’t hate on that.

However, we can hate on their next project together. According to Variety, Vaughn and Gibson have signed on to star in Dragged Across Concrete. It’s described as a crime thriller about police brutality.

And that sounds interesting, right? Gibson wouldn’t be our first choice to address the issues surrounding the police in America, but we’d be willing to give him a chance.

It’s just, the synopsis makes it sound like they are trying to claim police brutality is a necessary evil, which is absolutely ridiculous if that’s the case.

“Gibson and Vaughn will play cops who are suspended when a video of their strong-arm tactics gets wide attention. They then descend into the criminal underworld to exact vengeance.”

We can’t denounce the film yet, but we’re not sure how big of an audience a pro-police brutality film will have. But Donald Trump is our president now, so I guess anything is possible.
