Black Panther might be the coolest superhero out there, and that’s why we were so excited when Marvel revealed they were giving the character his own solo film.
The movie won’t be released until February 16, 2018, but the studio is ready to tease us now with the poster you see above. They released the image today, and the first teaser trailer for the movie will be released tonight during game four of the NBA finals. We’ll include the video in this post once it’s released online.
But back to this poster. It shows Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, and that’s it. They didn’t try to fit every cast member into this poster, they didn’t do anything too fancy with it. It’s simple, clean and really freaking cool.
Deadline explains what fans can expect from the movie…
“The film follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.”
Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, and the aforementioned Boseman star in the movie. It was directed/co-written by Ryan Coogler.
