M. Night Shyamalan is bringing together his ‘Unbreakable‘ and ‘Split‘ films to create a follow-up titled Glass, which stars Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson and James McAvoy.
“‘Glass’ follows the events of ‘Split’ and sees security guard David Dunn (Willis) using his superhuman abilities to bring mass murderer Elijah Price (Jackson) together with Crumbs and his 24 personalities.”
The film, which is reportedly a little over two hours long, is expected to have a huge opening weekend. It’ll hit theaters January 18 during MLK weekend.
Early tracking shows ‘Glass’ could bring in as much as $70 million during the holiday weekend. Other reports claim it’ll earn a respectable $50 million. Even if it only makes $50 million, it would still become the second best opening ever during MLK weekend. The top opening belongs to ‘American Sniper,’ which earned an impressive $107 million.
According to the reports, ‘Glass’ was made on a $20 million budget, so if the tracking reports are accurate, a $50 to $70 million opening would be HUGE for the studio.
We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, you can check out a trailer for the movie below…
