After his award winning performance in The Wolf of Wall street everyone has been wondering what Leo would be doing next.  After many false reports we are getting confirmation via notable sources that he has signed on to Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s “The Revenant”.

Adopted from a novel written by Michael Punke, the premise of the movie is something that I would be interested in seeing Leo do.  The film takes place in South Dakota in the 1820’s.  It follows a fur trapping expedition that goes wrong and finds the character to be played by DiCaprio, named Hugh Glass, mauled by a bear.  The rest of the trapping group leaves him for dead, but before abandoning him, two of the members of the expedition rob what they think is his lifeless body.  Somehow Glass survives the ordeal and seeks revenge.

Now that his star has been secured Iñárritu is scheduled to start filming in September and planning for a fall 2015 release.  If you would like to get a sneak peak of Iñárritu’s work, his dramedy Birdman will be released on October 17.
