There are some trailers that just demand your attention from the very start. You’re hooked the moment the first character appears on screen. You play it again and again. You send it to your best friend who has a similar taste in movies, and you both geek out over it for the next few days.
Those trailers are rare, which is why we’re so excited to say we have a contender. The trailer for ‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer‘ has been released, and if Rotten Tomatoes had a rating system for trailers, it would be sitting at 100% right now.
Yorgos Lanthimos, the man behind The Lobster, is back and he’s ready to get weird all over again. Colin Farrell stars in the mystery/drama as a charismatic surgeon who “is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart, when the behavior of a teenage boy he has taken under his wing turns sinister.”
Nicole Kidman plays Farrell’s wife, Alicia Silverstone co-stars as the boy’s mother, and Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk) stars as the boy.
We won’t spoil this trailer for you, but we will say if you’re a fan of Ellie Goulding’s ‘Burn’ song, well, your life is about to change. The Killing of a Sacred Deer will hit theaters October 27, 2017.
