What is Kevin Hart up to these days after the Oscars debacle? Well, apparently he’s working on remaking a Christmas classic.
According to sources who talked to Variety, the 39-year-old comedian is developing a remake of Bill Murray’s Christmas comedy, Scrooged.
He will be working with Paramount and will produce the film through his HartBeat Productions. He will also star in the movie.
But don’t get too excited yet. This movie doesn’t even have a script or a writer, so we’re still in the early days. There is a chance this thing won’t ever get off the ground.
That being said, Hart has an insane work ethic, and if he wants this to happen, it will happen.
The original 1988 dark comedy starred Bill Murray and was directed by Richard Donner as a modern-day retelling of the Charles Dickens novel. In the film, Murray played a greedy TV executive who meets with three ghosts in an effort to regain his Christmas spirit.
We’ll keep you posted as more information is released.[mashshare]
