You might know Fred Durst as the front man of the rock band Limp Bizkit, but the 47-year-old musician wants you to know him for something else. He wants to be a filmmaker. Well, I guess technically he IS a filmmaker. He directed a film titled ‘The Longshots‘ in 2008 and ‘The Education of Charlie Banks‘ in 2007, which starred Jesse Eisenberg.
And now for his third film, he’ll have John Travolta as his lead actor. ‘Moose‘ is the current title of this planned project, which will feature Travolta playing an insane stalker who becomes obsessed with his favorite celebrity action hero and sets out to destroy his life.
Moose was co-written by Durst, and it’s apparently based on his personal experiences dealing with a stalker several years ago. It’ll be shooting in Alabama and its backed by Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi’s AMBI Media Group.
The group sent out the statement you see below…
“There certainly is no shortage of amazing Fred Durst stories to tell, but this one in particular is unequivocally cinematic in how it plays out. John’s range as an actor will once again be shown off as he steps into a character that Fred is all too familiar with – making this pairing so exciting.”
Travolta is a great actor, and Durst’s two other feature films weren’t exactly terrible, so I can’t write this film off yet. The potential is there for this to be a decent movie.
