‘A Quiet Place‘ was one of the best surprise hits of the year. It was released back in April of 2018 and took home over $330 million at the box office. Critics loved it, the audience loved it and most importantly the studio loved it because it made them a bunch of money.
And now they’re ready for a sequel. The director of the movie, John Krasinski, originally said he didn’t want to be involved in the sequel. He thought it’d be just a one-time experience.
But then a little idea for a possible sequel popped in his head, and as the studio listened to pitches from several writing teams, Krasinski let this idea build up inside him and eventually he had to let it out.
“I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn’t think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, ‘Just go do the movie with somebody else.’ They heard some pitches, and I told Drew about this little idea. And he told me to think about it a little longer. And then I thought, ‘This might really work.’ So, I’m currently writing the sequel.”
So there you go, Big Tuna is coming back for the sequel and we’re sure the studio is thrilled. Just being able to add his name to the movie again is huge.
The sequel is expected to be released inside theaters May 15, 2020.
