Jim Carrey Takes Method Acting To A New Level In Trailer For ‘Jim & Andy’ Documentary (VIDEO)

You know those awkward situations in social settings where someone asks, “If you had the chance to eat dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?” Well, the answer I typically give is Andy Kaufman. I was once obsessed with Kaufman, to the point where I wanted to be exactly like him.

And I’m not the only one who had those dreams. Jim Carrey actually got the chance to be the late comedian in the 1999 drama/biopic Man on the Moon. Most people agree he nailed the performance.

So how did he get into character? He became Kaufman…on and off set. During filming, and even while promoting the movie, his body was taken over by the ghost of Kaufman. We have proof of this madness, thanks to the new Netflix documentary, Jim & Andy. The film shows exclusive footage of Carrey behind the scenes. We are seeing footage that was locked away for years, ’cause the studio was worried people would think Carrey was a huge a**hole.

This documentary looks hilarious and oddly educational. If you’re an aspiring actor, this film will offer a rare look into the creative process of a legend. It will be released on Netflix November 17.
